Raptor tires
I put them on my 95 Z. Stay Away, no traction, rolls on turns, not good in the wet. I called Michelin, they distribute them. Made in Indonesia. I was after something affordable after my Goodyear F-1's, what a mistake, they are downright dangerous
I went to a tire store for new tires for my Z. They wanted to try and sell me some of those. I just heard the name and decided not to take a chance on them. They sound like cheap Korean junk, and I'd imagine that's exactly what they are.
I've had them on mine for 23,000 miles with no problems. Granted, I drive sanely, daily. They don't hook with over 400rwhp, but what street tire does? I bought them as the cheapest tire I could find. The next set will probably change the car totally and I look foward to that. Just not sure if I'll end up on 17's or not, but if I do, I'll probably get the new Sumitomo HTRZ3's. I still have 7/32'nds left which probably shows they're a hard compound. I have had no issues in the rain, but I'm not pretending to rally race either.
I have Riken Raptors 275/40/17 on my 2001 Z. I do not have a problem with them. They have good traction in the dry, but in the wet it is questionable. The biggest complaint I have is that they seem to wear down a bit faster than some of the other tires I have used. If you want size 255/40/17 I would recommend General Exclaim UHP. These tires are about $100 a piece through Discount Tire and have excellent traction all around. They have outperformed every tire that I have owned. The wear rating is excellent. The tread pattern is also good.
