I'm looking for some ideas on how to set up my guages.

I bought an old stock guage cluster and dissasembled it. I have already cut it out and all I need is some abs sheet plastic to put in there. I am planning on installing some of my Autometer guages in the stock dash via the stock cluster.

Has anyone else done this? I am looking for some pics to give me some ideas on how to set mine up. I am trying to fit several guages in there

water temp, trans temp, oil temp, fuel pressure, vacum, oil pressure, and battery volts.... all are electric except the vac. which is mechanical. All are 2 1/6" and I would like to put them all in the dash.

Anyone got any pics of custom set up's?

your best bet will be to make a cardboard template and place circles for the gauges on there to figure out fitment
Are you doing an aftermarket tach and speedo too?

yes I will be doing an aftermarket tach but that will go on top of the dash or mounted to the pillar. I'm reusing my old 3 1/2" Autometer streert tach which will runn off of my MSD. No speedo... its a race car, I only care about rpm;).

Thanks for the cardboard idea. I didnt want to go cutting the abs and find out I dont like it when I am done.

I think the other hard part will be cutting out all the factory wiring to the guage cluster. Most of teh factory wiring has already been trimmed of what I dont need. This guage idea just popped into my head about a month ago.

I am very interested in this as well!
Projectz28 could you elaborate a little more on what you have removed so far?
I have good wiring skills but am a little leary at the mass behind the dash!

Here is what I made. I bought an old 110 speedo from the board and cut it apart. Bought some ABS plastic off of amazon and made this from it.

something to consider... rotating them, so when they are in their normal optimal readout, the needles are all pointing straight up..... so its real easy to check at a glance whats going on.
