Hello,

as i'm not succeeding flashing PCM in the car, i want to try to flash it directly on my desk. On www.akmcables.com i found a way to make a bench for doing it but it is for OBD1 PCM. I am using an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion (from Ion). Does it works ? or some connections are different ?

Let me know.

Thanks

Pierre

I assume what you are saying is that you have an OBD1 PCM in your OBD2 car. That means the procedure on Andrew's site will work for an OBD1 car will work.

One day Ion told me , an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion is not just an OBD1 PCM, it is an OBD1 PCM modified to work on an OBD2 car and so there are things different against just an OBD1 PCM

Yes, you're right. I forgot about the different knock sensor impedence... But that's an internal change to the PCM, having to do with the knock sensor circuitry and would not affect bench-flashing it.

ok thanks for the answer.

I will try to use the bench set up :)

Thanks again.
