one wicked element 12-29-2006, 04:42 PM I have a 2001 White Z. For Christmas my girlfriend got me some black halo lights for the car. I'd like to change the turn signals out as well, but not sure what color to do.
Go with a clean clear look that would match the white, so they blend in? Or go with the Black so they stick out (white/black contrast) and match the lights?
Thanks.
2000GTP 12-29-2006, 05:27 PM I'm a big fan of contrast so I vote for black.
Roger'Z28 12-30-2006, 09:01 AM I put clears on my silver Z, they look real good. I don't like the contrast. I like things to blend right in.
NOS2006 12-30-2006, 12:45 PM Black halos? Black turnsignals.
JimboManJones 12-30-2006, 02:26 PM On white and red cars, I say black turn signals, anything else clear all the way
Evil Lord Lucas 12-30-2006, 02:50 PM Get the black ones; or those weird clear ones that someone posted awhile ago. Anybody remember those? They looked hella sweat.
CamaroRacing12 12-30-2006, 04:57 PM black baby!
Steve0 12-30-2006, 10:54 PM I have clear on my white car... check the cardomain link for pics. I have never seen a white car with the black signals... it may look good...
MistaCamawo 12-31-2006, 03:04 PM If by black you mean the smoked ones, then get the black. I have black halos and smoked corners, pics in sig
camaroz28_97 01-03-2007, 04:47 PM clear all the way;)
94_PatriotRed_Z 01-03-2007, 06:30 PM Black I have black ones on my car and love them, I think they should come from the factory that way
Johnnynsac 01-03-2007, 06:47 PM When I see white ones, for some reason I think of rice. Not sure why. I like the look of factory. There something about people changing lights that doesn't go with me. Kind of like people with beamers making there halos brighter, :yuck: I still have my original ones on my car and they look good.
What really matters is what you like. Well, as long as it's taisty.
Edit: Ok, Steve, yours look good. I might take some of this stuff back.
96' TransAm LT1 01-09-2007, 07:16 PM or you can go to a hobby lobby and get a can of model window tint. it works great, just pull you lights off and spray the outside with about 15 coats, depending on how dark you want it. i used it on both my turn signals and tail lights... can save alot this way.
96' TransAm LT1 01-10-2007, 12:20 PM *edit* oh and make sure you spray SPARINGLY with those coats... it will fisheye if you dont go light each coat... thats why it needs so many.
one wicked element 01-12-2007, 12:36 PM I think the biggest issue is my grill, as it is currently black. I do plan on doing something with it - just not sure what yet.
I don't want to end up with black halo lights, black turn signals, and a black grill. I think it will look too much Black and White. That is not what I want. I want a "smoothness" look from the car. Where things blend together, and it just looks right, where nothing really sticks out (too much contrast).
It's hard to find a good grill on a white car, but I'm learning towards one of these:

It's a carbon fiber look. Sounds ricey, but I think it looks good on the white. Then I would go with clear.... aruugh. I have no idea.
Once I figure out the grill, I'll be able to do the turn signals......
one wicked element 01-12-2007, 12:41 PM Here is a picture of a white grill on a white car (from RKSport):

It just doesn't look right.....
94maro 01-12-2007, 01:24 PM i say go black...i was running with black corner covers from rksport for a while and then pulled off the covers and tinted the housings themselves a few weeks ago. looks clean and sleek.couldn't imagine having them any other way now.
if you can find them, there are some clear turn signal housings with a black interior that look pretty sweet...would go well with black halos and that carbon fiber grille you are loking at imo.
Kredz28 01-12-2007, 03:53 PM go with the clears if you get the carbon fiber insert...i think the tinted ones make the car look too busy...clear is my vote

 Yeah 15 coats thats gonna wear off in a couple weeks:rolleyes: !!! Or you can do it right an buy some Nightshade thats actually for that! About 15 bucks and you only need to do 2 or 3 coats and that will be dark enough for sure!

CALL911 01-19-2007, 02:58 PM I like these the best. After I saw them on this car, I bought them later that day, and sold my darkouts for the turnsignals.

CALL911 01-28-2007, 05:37 PM Yeah, they are friggin sweet IMO. I got them off of ebay from some no name company. If I can track down the company, I'll let you know.
The pics were of the guy I got the idea from. Here's a pic of them on my car;
