will a auburn carrier fit in a torsen rear end ?ghost stripes 12-25-2006, 08:33 PM its said to be a series 2 out of a 96 z28 but i have a 95 ta does any of that make a difference are they all interchangable? 01Z 12-25-2006, 10:53 PM It will make a difference if you don't have a 2 series coming out because the 3 series ring gear will not match up. In other words, if your gear ratio isn't 2.73:1 then you should keep looking for a 3 series Zexel or Auburn. They were interchangeable on my 95. I put a Zexel out of a 2000 Camaro in place of my Auburn Cone. Axle splines and bearings were all the same. It is also important that both differentials have the same provision for the reluctor ring (ABS exciter). I think you will be fine between the 95 and 96 but at some point GM added a channel and put dual exciters outside the axle housing. I know my 2001 doesn't have the reluctor inside the housing. ghost stripes 12-26-2006, 06:00 PM if i change the gear with the one coming out of my car than it will work either way ....is that correct?
