Where to get Alt. or rebuilt one?

Hey guys,

looks like my alt. is dead... car died on me and i had to have it towed home...

just finished re-charging the battery and putting it back in the car.

Battery reads 12.6 volts across the terminals when the car is off...

Fire the car up and it drops to 12.1-12.0 when it should jump to almost 14.0 - this is also with everything turned off...

turn on all the accessorys (lights-radio-defrost-etc...) and it drops even lower to 11.8ish

Everything i've read confirms that this is a dead alt.

anyone know of a good place to get a new one, or have this one rebuilt?

btw: this is vancouver, bc, canada (for alot of the newer US folks i've seen around here)

get a new one from an auto parts store. :D

Called a few places yesterday... 130-170 if i bring in my core and they replace the parts within...

should only about 2 hours for them to do it it seems!

that doesn't seem so bad!
