Taner is running 9s on his....cryo-ed internals though...there are a few companies makeing them to 1000# torque

stock...500hp depending on how you abuse it.

i'm at 450hp as are hundreds of other fbody, vette and viper guys

I shift hard but I don't beat my car... I broke mine with 32k miles and 380FWHP 400FWTQ..

Apparently, not much.. but again, it's all how you drive it. I had mine rebuilt by T56 Rebuilds with Micronite everything, CF syncro's, Steel 3-4 fork, billet keys, the whole works. It's good for 700hp now.. Maybe more. Amber from T56 Rebuilds told me that Joe takes his to the track regularly and beats the snot out of it. -One of his own rebuilds. It's taking it and I have 100% confidence in his work.

I've seen a stock T56 hold in a 600 rwhp blown LS1 car (running 10's), but I've also seen them break in relatively stock cars. It all depends.

depends on your definition of break. I consider breaking shearing teeth off of gears. Not bent shift forks or blocker ring faillure

D&D Performance and T56 Rebuilds are popular and put out good transmissions.

The local shop here in town who is building my forged 355 said with a strong clutch, t56's are really strong trannys for the most part. They have built several 10 second cars on the stock t56 and upgraded clutch. I would drive it till it breaks, then rebuild it.

LOL!! You guys are way too optimistic. For what I'm planning I can almost guarantee it will break. I'd MUCH rather upgrade it while I have the motor out than deal with carnage later.
