Jun10rp 11-30-2006, 06:16 PM I hope you dont do it. ZaneO 11-30-2006, 06:31 PM Sounds a little high to me. moparman 11-30-2006, 07:23 PM Check around some more places. 3800rs 12-01-2006, 01:40 PM seemed kinda high to me too but the guy claimed to "guarantee it to be perfect" i am gonna check out another place i know of. Blue89Bird 12-01-2006, 07:50 PM too expensive CamaroRacing12 12-06-2006, 10:26 PM way too expensive imo blown383 12-07-2006, 02:03 AM For comparison I had the SS hood painted and both front fenders blended for $350 and that was at the dealership! I also got quoted for a SS spoiler, both rear quarter panels, both lower rocker arms, painted for $700. So $950 is REALLY high. -B 2000slp2768 12-07-2006, 04:08 PM I agree, that sounds high. I got my front clip and mirrors quoted at 550ish. swk1955 12-07-2006, 05:04 PM I would definetly check around with alot more places MarcR94v6 12-08-2006, 01:33 AM Blending jobs sometimes jack the price up, but not that much. 3800rs 12-12-2006, 10:54 PM thanks for the info guys. i am gonna check out some other places i know of. it was 650 the guy said if he didnt blend it sscott 12-19-2006, 06:30 PM $950 is outragous. I had my front clip refinished for $425 and they did an excellent job w/ warranty. If you do find a shop that will do it for less, make sure they use flex additive when they refinish or you'll have spider cracks again. Good luck, do some research with other shops. 3800rs 12-21-2006, 12:09 AM considering ordering a front clip from rockauto.com its 124 shipped for a cappa certified one. they guarantee it to be oem fit or i can ship it back for a refund. got another estimate. guy told me if i had a new bumper it would be approx 400 to paint and another 200 if it needs to be blended. candymanz28 12-27-2006, 11:50 PM I Paint For A Living I Get 1500 To Do Work Like That. You Have To Remember Its Not Just Paint All Of Those Spider Cracks Havet To Go Down To Plastic And Bodyworked Plus The Whole Front End Get Blended And Cleared. If You Find It Cheaper Than This Chances Are Your Getting Junk Paint Or Acrylic Enamel. You Have To Find Out What They Use On You Car. Go By The Paint Yourself Youl Fid It Costs Around $500 To Buy Decent Paint . 3800rs 12-28-2006, 11:13 PM i was quoted using ppg. candy u have any experience with rock auto ? ajlew9428 01-04-2007, 09:09 PM PPg is what we use. I really like it. Anyway, spider cracks can be a lot of work. First they have to strip the paint, then fill it, then sand it (repeat if not perfect). After that prime it. Sand it. Fill the pinholes if any, scuff the whole piece, shoot some paint on the area being worked on, clear coat the whole panel (blending). Some shops will just strip it, and shoot it, but any quality shop, will do in these steps. Although it can be a lot of work, I think for a quality job, you would pay atleast $750. His estimate sounds pretty close. 3800rs 01-04-2007, 10:35 PM i am thinking about buying a bumoer from rockauto.com for 120. its cappa certified and if i dont like the fitment the guy will give me my money back. i think this route might save me some cash slomarao 01-05-2007, 12:10 AM I'm only 22 but I have have worked in 4 bodyshops. Some of the places do piss poor work and others do great work. You to really look into a shop before you take your car there. GreenZLT1 01-12-2007, 11:12 AM Depending on where the bumper is damaged, they might have to blend into the hood and front fenders. That basically means the whole front end is being worked on. 97QuasarBlue3.8 01-21-2007, 12:45 AM Guys, when front bumpers are repainted, generally no blend is required to the hood or fenders. Bumper covers are very often painted OFF the car from the factory, and a good eye can tell that the bumper cover doesn't match the body color on even a brand new car. Some of the worst examples I've seen are pewter and silver pontiacs, 92-97 Camry's, and Ford Foci. Unless your paint is in REALLY bad shape, no blend should be required on the hood or fenders. Make sure they try to properly tint the color to match your factory paint. If that can't be done, then a blend will be required--but at the same time, you should start questioning how good the shop is! My dark yellow green metallic needs blending. It's probably because my car is 13 years old. I' agree, I see new cars all the time with non matching parts. reamo04 01-21-2007, 08:00 PM i believe fbodymotorsports.com also has bumpers. Check there, i dont remember pricing and my computer is going too slow for me to check 67speeda 01-21-2007, 08:42 PM I Paint For A Living I Get 1500 To Do Work Like That.
