don't tell me not to drive it i don't have a choice.
is there anything i can do to my headers to keep the salt from jacking them up? also anything else i need to do to prep the car?
p.s. from texas living in mo so not used to the prep on a car so forgive me.

I'd be out there scooping up all the headers laying on the ground after the snow!!
(hopefully they're not too badly dented up??
)
But uh, seriously ... I don't think there's much "preventative" stuff you can do ... only "reactive", ie: wipe down the headers, and oiling them would certainly prohibit any rust, but you'd also smoke out the neighborhood everytime you fire the car up!
(that is, as long as it doesn't "fire" the car up literally!

95% of the cars I work on (Mercedes) have undershields that keep the entire engine compartment shielded. They're just hard plastic, but remarkably effective. I'd certainly recommend fabbing something up to keep the majority of that junk from getting on the headers in the first place.
After the ice/snow melts, go to a brushless car wash with an undercarriage wash. Or just a DIY car wash and hose the underside and wheel wells really well.
If your headers aren't coated or stainless they going to rust. Its inevitable.
