Lots of cup holders please

Cup holders are one thing I hated about my 94 Z228 and loved about my 2000 SS. There needs to be at least 1 for each seat not counting the doors. They are handy for my than just cups (cell phone, wallet, etc..) I hate driving cars with crappy or no cup holders.

I agree, but too many is also bad.
One for each seat is sufficient.
And none in the way of the shifter please. :)

With alot of the GM cars, I think cupholders is something that has been drastically overlooked. My Grand Prix for example... the cupholders are a complete joke.

yeah definite cupholders for each seat, my friend has a 94z with 1 cupholder, whenever we go to mcdonalds i always have to hold my huge cup in my lap, or when we park it has to go on the center console.

You mean 97 and up :p They redid the console that year before the exterior facelift. I use the folding one in my 97 the most too, since having anything larger than my cell phone in the shifter cupholder gets in the way.

93-96 manual transmission Camaros had one of the worst cup holder setups ever.

In a 2+2 car rear cup holders in the location of the 97-02 Camaro are perfect.

What they need to do have the bottom of the center console lid be a cupholder for those it the back so all you have to do is flip it over. Then do a dual cupholder/ashtray combo that pulls out of the dash with some strong spring arms to hold the drink in place. Maybe one behind the shifter just for cellphones, wallets, etc.

Yes please, cup holders would be great to have. It sucks driving a 6 speed with no cup holder.

I remember when the mustang changed the body style in 99 or whatever. I cought an epesode of Car & Driver TV... The Mustang put the cup holder in such a spot to where the shifter hit it going into 3rd and 5th. :lol:....

In the 4th gen, you can't use the center console holder... If you want to drive. It's good for change and small pieces of gum..

-Revise the way the drinks are held at the bottom... That damn wire on my flip out holder is going to be the cause for spilling my coffee one of these days..

Although, I am happy because my 85 Firebird had NO cup holders at all!! Hot coffee crotch SUX!!

I swaped my center out to a 02 and now i have one for each seat. But i agree there could be some change in this issue but im not going to hold the fact that there is not enough cup holders in a car to be a reason for me not to like it orn buy it

Hell with cup holders. Its a sports car not a ****ing lexus. I don't like that steering wheel or the gauges. Noones ever going to eat or drink in MY car, thats what restaurants are for. You like coffee? Finish it at home I say. heh. I don't think I'll be buying one with the possible upgrades I'd rather do to my Camaro, they are pretty cool though.

The cup holders in the 97-02 Firebirds are perfect IMO. The one behind the shifter is far enough down and back that an aluminum can fits perfectly in it, and the bottom has a circular ring designed to "lego" with standard cans. :)

The swing out holder in front of the radio is easily stored and opened, blends in nice with the consol when closed... though I wish the rubber retention "edges" were stiffer or maybe spring-loaded. The folding bottom / metal bar for the holder seriously needs to be rubber coated though... its metal vibrates on empty cans that are being held.

The door "holders" are really just storage spots for can shaped objects, though I've used them for unopened beverages on several occations.

I dig the later 4th gen cup holders... but the earlier ones were pretty ineffective.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but the amount of cup holders is much less important than the location and functionality of the cupholders they do include.

I tend to lean towards the "no cupholder" argument, but that would just make the car that much less marketable.

That would be cool i just like to see 4 cupholders. Just build them in the dash like a ashtray so you can pull them out and put the other 2 in the back of the console.

That's how I'd like to see them. That way they're unobtrusive when you don't need them. Just make sure they're the kind that can expand or shrink to accomodate various size drinks.

I agree, this car needs to be built as a daily driver since the majority of people will use it as such. Heated and cooled i can certainly do without, but it has to have some kind of cup holders.

Maybe they should stick one of the cup holders in front of the ancillary gauges. Its not like they are going to be that useful in the lower console anyway.

This part. I dont know, sounds kinda expensive. A thermal cup could practically keep your coffee hot all day for free if you were worried. You can get an Ice cold soda, Sport drink, or water at any gas station or, convience store. Just doesnt seem like it would be worth it...

My '91 didn't have any cupholders, let alone heated and cooled. It actually served me well. It taught me not to eat/drink in my car. A spot for a cell phone would be nice, but I could live without cupholders. Plus, we all have that clumsy friend, well call him Mr. Upholstery Ruiner..."oh hey can i take this strawberry shake?"..."sorry man, no cupholders."

Well, if you stop and get a 20oz Coke, and have a ride that's 30 mins to an hour it gets warm unless you drink it fast. I'm not concerned with the heated part really. Cooled would be nice imo though.

Honestly, I'm not THAT concerned about cooled either. If it's not there I don't care that much. But it is a nice convenience if it can be done for little $.

I highly doubt that if they were to develop heated and cooled cup holders that it would be exclusive to the Camaro. I would think they would spread the costs across as many product lines as possible, which would mean the cost would be rather minimal. Plus, don't they already have heated and cooled cup holders on the Caddys and Buicks? So really there would be next to no new development costs....

With that said, I do not want heated or cooled cup holders in my 5th gen.... but if there is a market for them, then make them an option.

Wait..how many cup holders do the LS1 Camaros have...one for each seat? Where do you have the room to put them....in the armrest next to the speakers for the rear seats?

And if it did fit, I still have to hold the cup when I'm driving. Well, I take turns hard, but driving an auto with those "cup holders"...feels like I'm grabbing onto the shifter and downshifting, but I'm not..I'm just keeping my drink from spilling.

I do like the design how the rubber part comes out of the plastic part...easier to clean the soda that just spilled it in, because the cup tipped. :)

LOL I want only 2 cupholders. One for me and one for my passenger. I don't care about the rear seats, no one should be drinking back there anyway.

My '02 had 2 cupholders up front. The 2nd one swiveled out of the bottom of the center stack on passenger side.

I'd be a nice feature...and as the Vette manages to have some, I'm sure there'll be at least 2.

It doesn't effect me either way, though...Nobody will be eating/drinking/gumchewing/smoking in my Car. Nobody with metal-studded belts will not be granted access, and no chains.
