Not meant to be a put-down I plan on buying a new one too! ImportedRoomate 11-25-2006, 09:38 AM Here's a couple discussions on the topic: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=421926 http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475191 OctaneZ28 11-25-2006, 04:02 PM The Gold bowite is the global bowtie, it's on all Chevrolets now. I think if you add a red-white-and-blue banner to it, you can make a pretty good looking Camaro emblem: http://www.camarohighway.com/Files/5thGen/ConceptCamaroBadge1.jpg blackrat 11-25-2006, 04:14 PM that looks horrible. Way too much contrasting color. There's a reason the emblems have always been small. Ron78Z&01SS 11-26-2006, 02:16 AM I'm thinking the aftermarket won't waste too much time coming out with different colored bowties (and designs) for the front grill emblem. Personally, I'd LOVE to see a blue one to add to the 1st Gen look :). SSHORTT 11-26-2006, 05:37 AM [QUOTE=Ron78Z&01SS;424630 Personally, I'd LOVE to see a blue one to add to the 1st Gen look :).[/QUOTE] Exactly what i was thinking, blue emblem on V-6's and Z-28 and SS emblem on SS cars.... Z28x 11-28-2006, 08:13 AM I always liked the black with red outline http://www.mrtaillight.com/images/936EBLACK.jpg Dave89IROC 11-28-2006, 06:59 PM I always liked the black with red outline http://www.mrtaillight.com/images/936EBLACK.jpg you happen to have the P/N for that? SCNGENNFTHGEN 11-29-2006, 11:30 PM you happen to have the P/N for that? Yeah, I always liked that one too, it's what's on my truck. Looks to be the part # right on the box, kinda hard to make out though! EllwynX 11-30-2006, 08:34 PM Am I crazy. . . I thought the Gold Bowtie was the Chevy truck emblem? If so why is it on the Camaro? Personally I think on the cars (and trucks actually) they should color match to the vehicle. Someone living around the corner from me has a white '07 Avalanche. The bowtie on the front grille and rear are white w/silver outline. VERY nice looking being color matched to the vehicle. 0toinsanein5.4sec 12-04-2006, 11:38 AM i would really, really prefer to have the camaro emblem in the front instead of the bowtie. especially a big gold bowtie like on the concept Plague 12-06-2006, 10:12 AM The Gold bowite is the global bowtie, it's on all Chevrolets now. I do believe there is on chevy that does not have any bowtie... Find one on the corvette for me :D ImportedRoomate 12-06-2006, 10:29 AM http://www.dannywhitfield.com/images/corvette_emblem.gif :p Jared 3870 12-06-2006, 12:46 PM keep in mind the car could change substantially from the concept. the concept 05 mustangs looked a fair bit different than the production car 2lane69 12-06-2006, 04:43 PM I guess I'll see what they come out with. Maybe a carbon fiber one outlined in silver, or a billet one will make it to the aftermarket. Maybe a vintage blue emblem can be fabbed up. jg95z28 12-06-2006, 06:49 PM keep in mind the car could change substantially from the concept. the concept 05 mustangs looked a fair bit different than the production car You need to read the posts on this board more. GM has already said that won't happen. The production version is supposed to be fairly close to the concept. Jared 3870 12-06-2006, 09:24 PM Oringinally Posted by jg95z28 The production version is supposed to be fairly close to the concept I'm just saying... never know. But you are right i have not been following the concept forums much. SCNGENNFTHGEN 01-11-2007, 09:27 PM A Carbon Fibre one w/red outline, would look so sweet! I hope someone makes one.........RKsport maybe, I don't care who. Grand Royal 01-12-2007, 05:48 AM i would really, really prefer to have the camaro emblem in the front instead of the bowtie. especially a big gold bowtie like on the concept I completely agree with you. Putting the bowtie on the grill doesn't have nearly the same effect as the Camaro emblem or the "SS" letters. 90rocz 01-16-2007, 03:00 PM The Corvette has the crossed flags on it everywhere, I don't see a big gold bow-tie on it anywhere... Camaro has a life of its own as well, we should have Camaro emblems on it, as far as I'm concerned... The Gold bow-tie does give it a kinda truck feel... What about the 1st gen Camaro flags, in a "V" shape, with red-white-blue inside the "V"... Any Chops?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-Camaro-327-Standard-Emblem-Kit-Std-New-67_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33643QQihZ016QQitemZ 260073675124QQrdZ1#ebayphotohosting 5thgen69camaro 01-16-2007, 06:39 PM The Corvette has the crossed flags on it everywhere, I don't see a big gold bow-tie on it anywhere... Grand Royal 01-17-2007, 01:33 AM Here's another point to consider: the Ford Mustang (our direct competitor) has the metal Mustang emblem on the front of their cars, shouldn't the Camaro have it's own custom emblem on the front? I think the old "red/white/blue stripe" emblem should be used, and just make it angled so that it fits perfectly on the front of the grille. And then maybe make a special "SS" emblem to be used on the front of the Super Sport edition... That would make the Camaro stand out so much better as a Chevy sports car, rather than just another regular Chevy car. 90rocz 01-17-2007, 01:35 AM I'm not say use the exact same image, but a modern version...maybe. Here's a pic; http://home.stny.rr.com/sscamaro/67_Camaro_Drivers_Side.JPG I think it would be better than stitching the "Name" into the seatbacks... Grand Royal 01-17-2007, 02:16 AM Basically, any kind of Camaro emblem (a new one even) would be better than the gold bowtie. I think that's something the large majority of us would agree upon. 5thgen69camaro 01-17-2007, 01:51 PM Basically, any kind of Camaro emblem (a new one even) would be better than the gold bowtie. I think that's something the large majority of us would agree upon. Speak for yourself, Id love to see the blue 1st gen bowtie over anything. Grand Royal 01-17-2007, 03:07 PM Alright, make that most of us would like something individualistic as the front emblem, rather than the current gold bowtie. Plague 01-18-2007, 01:09 PM http://www.dannywhitfield.com/images/corvette_emblem.gif :p no fair chopping the corvette emblem to have a bowtie EDIT: I take it back, I do see the new emblem does have a bowtie. OutsiderIROC-Z 01-18-2007, 07:42 PM The GOLD bowtie emblem has grown very tired.... EllwynX 01-18-2007, 10:15 PM The GOLD bowtie emblem has grown very tired.... That's why it should be bodycolor w/silver outline. :) 90rocz 01-19-2007, 10:54 PM I say drop the front bowtie altogether, leave the grille open to designate what model Camaro, as always,(SS, Z28 etc) and put the Camaro red/white/blue emblem just above the grille with its 'lil bowtie inlaid as always, make it gold...or modify to bring up to date...my point is, it will bring more heritage, just don't exactly copy the "old" image.. http://i6.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/81/f5/bc16_1.JPG Any choppers? 5thgen69camaro 01-20-2007, 12:30 PM my point is, it will bring more heritage, just don't exactly copy the "old" image.. http://i6.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/81/f5/bc16_1.JPG Any choppers? How exactly will it bring more heritage??? 90rocz 01-21-2007, 01:54 AM Well, most 2nd gen on Camaros have had a variant of this as a nose emblem, if the 5th gen inherits a form of this, a modified form, it'll tie this one in with the past ones creating a heritage link. The gold bow-tie breaks away from tradition...except for trucks. 5thgen69camaro 01-21-2007, 01:19 PM The gold bow-tie breaks away from tradition...except for trucks. or goes back to the tradition of the 1st gen :) OutsiderIROC-Z 01-22-2007, 10:34 PM That's why it should be bodycolor w/silver outline. :) That might look pretty cool! :thumb: The Engel 08-26-2007, 08:54 PM Chevy is putting the Gold bowtie on all their vehicles. Even the vette has it hidden inside the flag emblem. I personally like the consistency of all the models having the bowtie. Back in '00-'05 it seemed that every model had its own logo and its own color bowtie if it had one at all. I dunno, it just makes the line up look like their all from the same family. But thats just me. OutsiderIROC-Z 08-26-2007, 10:06 PM Chevy is putting the Gold bowtie on all their vehicles. That sucks.... blackrat 08-26-2007, 11:22 PM That sucks.... Well, if it's any consolation, the aftermarket will have a field day coming up with a whole bunch of ways to customize that large grill area on the 5th gen. Hell, I have a blue Bowtie off a late 60s Malibu on the front of my 01. :D mpilarZ281992 11-12-2007, 11:32 AM Yes the gold bowtie. Honestly I can see chevy wanting to be big and bold with the new camaro; however, Im afraid that the current concept look will soon turn big and boring if chevy does not tend to customize the look. I personally prefer the side and rear decals anouncing to the world that this car is unique. We buy camaros for what they are and who we are as individuals. Our cars are a reflection of us (at least to me); and I do not want a big yellow bowtie stamped on my nose if im getting the real version (V8); give some artistic style at least. How long have they thought this out, and the best thing they come up with is a standard bowtie...??? A symbol is more important than one my first expect... you see that symbol and right away you know what it stands for. All chevy is telling me that this is not a permanent project. I guess im biased. JJJ93z 11-13-2007, 03:40 PM I'm not a big fan of the bowtie, but after Ford switched the rustang logo to this http://media.ford.com/newsroom/images/fordcom/SEMA/Mustang_Emblem.jpg in 2005, I really don't want something similar (4th gen nose badge) on my Z. If/when there is an SS i would like "SS" on my grill just like 1st gens. W3dgy 11-15-2007, 06:26 PM Im thinking nothing in the grill would be better than the gold bow tie, or the red white and blue camaro logo. | ||
