ive had it with camaros

this is the third different time my car has left me stranded in 3 months first was i needed a new icu than a new coil wire and again this morning it wont start and only crank over again so fed up with it have no idea what could be wrong now. and yet again im having to get it towed home
does anybody else seem to have recurring problems with their camaros ver yseriously thinking bout getting another mustang after all this bs

Mechanical things break, its the way it goes. The same problems can happen with any type of car. The Mustang doesn't exactly have a clean track record either. I'd just start with the obvious stuff, check the battery, connections, ect. and work your way from there.

yes i have an lt1 and im just venting cause im in the process of trying to move for school and my camaro keeps breaking down so saving any extra money becomes unavailable

I have an lt1, and it's been great. I just realize that it's an older car, so I try to be proactive about maintaining the obvious stuff. Besides the ignition, these cars are pretty reliable. Unfortunately, some of these lt1's are becoming 13 and 14 year old cars.
My old honda civic is very reliable, but nowhere near as fun to drive. I guess everything is a compromise. Good luck with your car-remember how much you liked it when it ran well...

How many miles is on ur car?

I've had no problems with my Camaros. The blue car is pretty high mileage but still very reliable. The Z-28 is a fast and still reliable car. The only thing I've HAD to replace on it since I bought it was the water pump. I'm not sure how long they're good for, but this was the original one at 110,000 miles. Most people that complain about their car just don't realize that after time, things tend to wear down. Depending on how many miles are on your car, it could just be that they've reached the end of their life expectancy. Give your car the benefit of the doubt. Taking care of the little problems like that has to be less expensive than buying a new car. If you spend a little money and treat your car right it will treat you right.

Sometimes you just get a lemon.... My 93Z, bought w/56,000 miles on it, stock, and just had regular problems.. IE: OPTI failed at 123,000, tranny at 92,000.....

She has never left me stranded....:)

My camaro has been weird, it was reliable until the 120-130k range when I had the waterpump/opti combo, followed by an a/c compressor and some other issues. I replaced the driver side window motor at 140k and since then the cars been freakishly reliable. It has 180k on it and aside from some oil leaks is in great shape.

the only problem i've had with my car was on the way home from the track. the alternator seized and broke the belt(one v belt, drives the water pump too), i don't blame the car i just don't think free ebay alternators like being spun to 6k.

My 94 Z has 87K miles and has needed little more then fluid changes, brake pads and filters.

Mine just sprung a busted coolant hose(from the water pump) this morning on the way home from work. a shaft broke last month and It was replaced along with the torque converter and Flex plate. The tranny went about six months ago and I had it rebuilt.
I have had two previous camaros. THis one is a 94 z28 and I had the bigger coolant hoses changed out last year. I have a 85 Maxima that is very much more reliable,but my camaro gives me great pleasure to drive.

its a machine. things will break. dont care if its a honda or a toyota its eventually going to need repair and maintanence :)
