SSpdDmon 11-21-2006, 10:10 PM You would need an LS7 PCM, wiring harness and software to tune out a bunch of crap. Besides, for the price you could have a shop install a 408 iron block that would put over 500hp to the tires....not just at the crank. So, why bother? Jun10rp 11-22-2006, 06:16 PM 408 IRON BLOCK, I wouldnt need heads and intake and all the other stuff. How much do you think all of that would cost because ive been saving alot of money to build or buy a new engine and as soon as my income tax comes in I will have about 15grand to spend. MasterZ28 11-22-2006, 06:35 PM Need to upgrade the car aswell, wont be able to handle that much power if you plan on taking some people on. What would I need to upgrade on the car I know the suspension and the rear end bombebomb 11-22-2006, 07:04 PM This is just a guess but im gonna say transmission (not sure what the stocker can handle?). cjmatt 11-22-2006, 07:05 PM katech did it and i think they used the stock pcm and just retuned it....im about 99% sure. Kraest 11-24-2006, 09:25 AM You're looking at around $3999 for a LS2 Aluminum 402 shortblock. Stick some nasty heads on there, a nice bumpstick, and a FAST 90/90, and you'll have a 520+ rwhp motor with no problem (slightly less horsepower to the wheels if you have an automatic). You can do all that for WELL under $10,000... probably under $9000. angel71rs 11-24-2006, 10:24 AM Until GM figures out why this is happening, might be best to cross the LS7 off your option list: http://www.classicresto.com/mambo/content/view/128/43/ http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1550185 Those bearing pics = :barf: SSpdDmon 11-24-2006, 11:47 AM SSpdDmon, Thanks for recommending us.:thumb: Good shop + support local economy = OK in my book :) aifilaw 12-22-2006, 12:33 PM the only reason I'd get the LS7 would be for the very high mpg number along with that high HP number...something you won't get with the other recommendations. but the price tag increases theroad64 12-23-2006, 05:02 AM Words that are totally unnecessary were removed from this post. | ||
