What's up with Breslin?

I'm ready to install my headers and I was going for the Breslin header bolts. VRE said they stopped carrying them because they're in constant backorder and everywhere else I looked says either not in stock, discontinued or not available. I really had my eye on the Breslins because I don't really want to have to go back and retorque the bolts once I get them in. Anybody know what's going on with Breslin? Should I just hold out and wait or should I change directions and go with a different kind of bolts?

I had the same problem getting the from summit racing. I decided on the Stage 8's and no regrets. Yes they have the reatiners and clips but they also have double hex head so you can tighten the bolts down with Allen wrenches and ball drivers.

Also there is no chance of themoosening or seizing up or stripping the needle screw. Plus they are cheaper.

Isn't it a pain in the butt to get some of those clips on though? I'm kinda lost now because I was really set on the Breslins. I guess this is the part where some of you guys try to convince me on which brand to go with now.

I'm pretty sure Breslin went out of business....at least thats what then told me at Summit Racing.

Summit was out of the small block set, but still had the big block sets in stock as of August. Same size bolts, just four extras. Maybe try looking for those.

I'm happy with them, but getting an allen wrench in there to tighten the lock is a huge PITA on some of them.

I heard that Breslin went out of business as well. As for the Stage 8s, they are a pain in the butt to put the clips on, but both my friend and I were able to get them on his car with two sets of hands.

I heard that the owner died a few months ago, maybe no one took over the buisness  Breslins are not exactly easy to lock anyway, so if you cant find them then just get the stage 8s.

I had problems with Breslin bolts loosening up in both my cars. I switched them out. One shop blamed the aluminum heads having more expansion and contraction then iron heads.

Seriously it ain that bad, you are only doing it once or so. Just take your time and gt some extra clips from Stage 8 directly. Put them on and forget them and be happy.

Stage 8's are pretty junky. They're made out of really soft metal and try to round out/off really easy. The allen head part is really prone to rounding off and the the hex head is pretty weak as well. I removed mine, and just put in some Mr. Gasket brand bolts i bought at the local auto parts store.
