Where should I place my cutout on a 97 dual cat car? On the i pipe towards the back? What size do I need? 2.25 inch?
I plan on running a eCutout and wiring it up to the "ASR" switch on the dash, because I don't have ASR.
What kinda numbers am I looking at? 5rwhp, $200?

I installed a QTP in the after-cat pipe under the Rt. rear seat. The floor pan had an indent which allow me more ground clearance. I also installed a heat barrier on the pan (stick-on reflective tape). I went with a 3 1/2 Mufflex system, and fabricated the after cat pipe. The QTP was a tight fit, but QTP unit has a small profile. (There seams to be alot of people that do not like QTP, but, it has worked for me.) I fabricated a turn-down on the end of the QTP. It helps alot with the FI set-up. (97 - SS LT1 383)

The most common place to mount them is in the i-pipe right before the axle dump. I beleive the stock exhaust diameter is 2.75 inches so you will want to go with a 3" cutout. You shouldn't have a problem netting 5rwhp, you may even gain a little more.

on a stock exhaust the gains will be more like 10-15rwhp.
if you do plan to keep the stock setup, i suggest upgrading the pipe from the merge of the Ypipe with 3" pipe (it's straigt...pretty easy), into the 3" cutout, and then connect it to the stock 2.75" exhaust.
that way you're taking full advantage of the 3" cutout but still have the nice quiet stock setup

2 cutouts after the headers. Otherwise it sounds monotone and not too impressive imo.
