lt1 vs wrx *vid** updated

i was spraying and he has a wrx w/STI motor and a FP green turbo. some internal work, etc.
then afterwards i mess around w/ a ZX6R.

i just got back from filling my bottles up. the bottle i was running the wrx with had 1 lb left. i thought it was pretty low cuz i couldnt get the bottle pressure above 700. so hopefully ill run into him again, with correct pressure.
anyway here is the vid.

edit: ran him again. new vid http://videos.streetfire.net/video/5...7e0137d678.htm

well i am planning on going to the track here in 2 weeks. i would rather run him there, if and when i see him again, i'll see if he is interested on going.
his car should easily be in the 11's.

p.s. yeah i got a taste of my own medicine last night, lol.

The FP Green is what I want to end up with on my Legacy. Same engine (Legacy has the 2.5 liter already), same power, killer sleeper package

What'd you do differently -- anything?

It looked pretty even until your car ran out of whatever gear that was in. Third shifting into OD?

I put the drag radials on and had nearly a full bottle. Last time I ran him I was almost out of bottle, and couldnt get the bottle pressure above 700. This time it was at 1000 for the 1st run, and 900 the 2nd run.
It was @115 that he would pass me. For some reason my car would start breaking up right there.

So how much spray is an otherwise-stock LT1 bottom-end good for?

Man those were great runs. He still appears to have you at the top, but that could be because the pressure in the bottle drops after the trigger has been held down that long. Something I did once.... Run two bottles with a Y fitting and a pressure regulating device. When the first pressure drops below a certain number the other solenoid will pop the other bottle.

Still you will be spraying the same amount, just having an extra 20 seconds of pressure around 1000 psi.

Just a thought.

Nice runs, it looks like you're finding yourself some real competition finally.

Wouldn't just Y-ing them together automatically (via the laws of physics) keep both bottles at the same pressure? To me, it should equalize instantly and like you said -- twice the volume means a longer time at higher pressure.

The Y fitting has to have a solenoid and a low pressure switch on it so that it will keep the second bottle isolated until the first bottles pressure drops below 700psi.

There are a few more things that Ive not mentioned ( or forgotten )
that need be installed for this to work. Its been quite a few years since I ran this setup.
