Tranny Mount Broke...againslipping 11-17-2006, 03:59 AM My tranny mount broke for a second time in six months. Any ideas why this is happening? I replaced it also about 2 years ago. slipping 11-17-2006, 04:00 AM Guess I should list my car. 94 Z28. Only mods are flowmaster exhaust and intake. I had the tranny rebuilt about a year ago. 30thTA0525 11-17-2006, 05:55 AM buy a pauly mount or just get used too replacing them.. or you could just keep your foot out of it haha, but what is the fun in that BTW they are the same price at autozone 12SCNDZ 11-17-2006, 07:21 AM Energy Suspensions polyeurethane mount! You'll keep breaking cheap mounts because of the way the torque arm puts load on them. If you get a poly mount, be sure to leave the spacer out, that comes with them, or you'll have an unbearable vibration. Frank CPT Capn Pete 11-17-2006, 08:04 AM Guess I should list my car. 94 Z28. Maybe you should ALSO list your TRANSMISSION??? ;) A4 or M6?? If you've got an A4, I'm almost surprised that you're going through mounts that often . Try upgrading to a stock LS1 mount (they're better than the stock LT1 mount, but won't cause the vibrations that a poly mount will). With an M6, they're more prone to wear out the stock mounts, but again, try switching to an LS1 mount. The differences between the LT1 / LS1 mounts are visible. I'm still running my factory LS1 mount (although I tried a poly mount for awhile, but couldn't stand the vibes:rolleyes: ) and my car has around ~65k on it and I've beat the pi$$ out of it, both at the drag strip and on a road course :thumb:. slipping 11-17-2006, 06:28 PM Yeah. Forgot the tranny. Its an a4. Thanks for all the suggestions! :D | ||
