Actually it works out to about 42% of production still available. Sounds like some great deals.

I would not read too much into this. Lame duck cars always take a while to clear out, and the GTO has basically no incentives. When I was buying my GTO a few months back there were two dealers with 12+ on their lots and they would not deal at all on them. Their logic was they knew nothing similar was in the pipeline, and if they hold their ground, they will eventually sell at a nice profit. One was even trading other dealers to get more

When will they be getting the newer models?

I don't think they will get a nice profit once gas hits $3.00 a gallon as it will shortly after the holiday season. Plus, factor in rising interest rates and well, those GTO's will be a tough sell, especially considering the Solstice GXP and n/a Solstice will have a nice supply (read: not overcrowded) on dealers lots.

The next GTO is still far, far off. At least 5 or 6 years, easy.

Yeah, Chevy dealers are doing the same with the SSR, I still see some new '05 and 06s sitting around on lots.

I really tortured myself over the GTO. In the end I bought my CTS because the GTO simply didn't meet my family needs. But man, if you can get a Brazen Orange 6 speed with 18's for mid 20's......almost irresistible.

The GTO sure is a sweet sleeper especially when you consider they have 400HP.

The GTO will eventually become one of those great bang-for-the-buck bargins when used 400hp versions start showing up. I would expect the current GTO to become even more affordable when the new Camaro comes out since Im sure many bought the current GTO to help fill the void until then.

I don't think ford would sell a single GT500 if this was released in America (too late to release it now).

^^Dont be so sure. You could write the word Mustang on a milk crate and people would buy it.

Completly different vehicles. Chevy was forcing SSR's on dealerships...no one wanted them. On the otherhand, there were several dealerships ordering as many GTO's as they culd get right up to the end. Also, there is the simple fact that it is a lame duck car with almost no incentives. If GM was in a hurry to sell them (or their dealers wanted to move them), there would be incentives.

The GTO also has a very hot aftermarket right now...it is amazing the ratio of cars to owners who are modding.

I think the GTO's price is fair. Fix the trunk, add faster seat motors, and offer few options (sunroof, nav, xm), and GM sells everyone they made.

I get better gas milage in my GTO than I did my GXP.

styles are night and day. The Vauxhall offers nothing for someone who perfers retro. They are both awesome cars though. That clip gave me chills

I remember a month back a dealer let me test drive a brazen orange with 18s... long test drive too, like 15 miles, through city, down highway, little country driving, back to freeway then to the dealership in Fresno. I drove it like I stole it, and it was never let up. There are so many around my area now it would be tough to pull the trigger, but like Charlie said, mid 20's for that car, HARD to pass!
