MEAN LT1 11-11-2006, 10:11 AM Actually no i did not make this system. I actually saw a thread on this system on ls1tech and thought About duplicating it my self until I saw how much he paid for it. baddboy1705 11-11-2006, 02:46 PM Actually no i did not make this system. I actually saw a thread on this system on ls1tech and thought About duplicating it my self until I saw how much he paid for it. and how much was the grand total? lol MEAN LT1 11-12-2006, 12:04 AM and how much was the grand total? lol With labor and everything, I think It came to about a grand after everything is said and done. With the bmr relocation bracket for the panhard bar and using manderel bends, and ontop of that, I think Kooks did the bending and everything for him. So it came our really good just really expensive. My Iroc Z28 11-12-2006, 06:02 PM My Old TD Setup, Now i have a catback but plan on switching back to duals with different mufflers. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals1.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals4.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals3.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals2.jpg 1970z28 11-12-2006, 10:18 PM My Old TD Setup, Now i have a catback but plan on switching back to duals with different mufflers. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals1.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals4.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals3.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d96/SmokedOutZ28/trueduals2.jpg what did this set up sound like going down the road. My Iroc Z28 11-12-2006, 10:34 PM Closed it sounded nice and deep at idle and was loud as hell @ Wot... Now this was without the cam so all i had was bolt on's and loved the sound, it Had a bit of drone in inside but nothing the radio couldn't fix. I switched because i wanted to lower the car but now that i changed my mind im going back to duals with flowmaster 1 chamber mufflers. Injuneer 11-13-2006, 10:38 AM Keep it simple...... http://www.injuneer.com/images/photos/Exhaust/DCP03675a.jpg My Iroc Z28 11-13-2006, 01:04 PM Keep it simple...... http://www.injuneer.com/images/photos/Exhaust/DCP03675a.jpg You can say that again! Do your mufflers bang up against the floor during idle or under load? Also how do you like your chassis mounted t/a? CamaroRacing12 11-13-2006, 02:10 PM my iroc are those 2 electric cutouts right after the longtubes? if so why do u have them facing the same direction? not opposite outwards? also i am very interewsted in ur setup....im planning on doing the exact same setup on my 95 z My Iroc Z28 11-13-2006, 02:46 PM my iroc are those 2 electric cutouts right after the longtubes? if so why do u have them facing the same direction? not opposite outwards? also i am very interewsted in ur setup....im planning on doing the exact same setup on my 95 z Yes they are 2 electric cutouts, I had to point them in the same direction because of my subframe connectors the driverside one wouldn't fit facing outwards. I put them on there because i was unsure of the sound from the duals, i never even cracked them open so when the duals went so did the cutouts. Injuneer 11-15-2006, 10:43 AM You can say that again! Do your mufflers bang up against the floor during idle or under load? Also how do you like your chassis mounted t/a? Nothing "bangs"... its supported very solidly by the hangers near the turndowns. And, those are not LT headers.... they are AS&M's that heve been modified so they can be run as duals. The Spohn TA is solid as a rock. I'd like to have a new front mount made, maybe a little lighter. The one on the car now is for the 4" Mufflex catback, which has obviously been replaced. injuneer are those mufflers or cats. if mufflers what kind are they. Those are Borla 3" XR-1 straight mufflers, 12" long. The system was originally 3" Carsound cats bolted to the collector flanges, a custom Mufflex 3" Y-pipe, a Mufflex 4" catback. I had the Borlas made up to match the cats, so when I went to the track and ran leaded fuel, I could swap the cats out with the Borlas. When I added the Gear Vendor to the TH400, the Y-pipe wouldn't fit any more, so I removed the Mufflex catback (saved 50#) and went to the current design. Mufflex bent and installed the 3" pipes for me. I live about 20 minutes from Mufflex. Gripenfelter 11-15-2006, 11:10 AM Pics and video in signature. reamo04 11-15-2006, 12:22 PM are u guys running any specific x/h-pipe kits? or just like the universal summit kit? Gripenfelter 11-15-2006, 01:42 PM The Summit kit didn't work for me. I had the exhaust shop fabricate everything. In your opinion which sounded better the mufflex catback or the borla duals? are u guys running any specific x/h-pipe kits? or just like the universal summit kit? My Kit was a summit 3'' universal kit. The front legs had to be trimmed but other then that the exhaust guy said that was the best fitting Store bought kit he had seen for any car running duals. Injuneer 11-16-2006, 05:01 PM Any drone in the inside with the exhaust setup that way? In your opinion which sounded better the mufflex catback or the borla duals? . Its pretty loud inside the car. But its mostly a "track" setup. The Mufflex was very quiet in comparison, until you put the pedal to the floor, and than it would come alive. But it also had a resonance at about 2,500rpm that would cause my chest to throb. The worst trip I ever had in the car was driving it about 75 miles from the shop in PA where they had just installed the Gear Vendor, and couldn't put the Y-pipe back in. I drove it all the way home with just the Borlas, no pipes at all, and everything inside the car and inside my head was rattling for an hour-and-a-half. It looked like this..... http://www.injuneer.com/images/photos/Drivetrain/DCP02954a.jpg My Iroc Z28 11-16-2006, 05:16 PM Its pretty loud inside the car. But its mostly a "track" setup. I think im going to spend the winter fabbing up 3'' duals over the axle, so i don't have to worry about drone or resonance. 1970z28 12-04-2006, 09:48 PM ttt baddboy1705 12-04-2006, 10:11 PM With labor and everything, I think It came to about a grand after everything is said and done.
