More Domestic Car Bashing

I'm running out of energy to comment on these morons.
The minivans....ok we get it, they aren't the greatest out there....but the rest just sounds like the typical, uninformed, mindless crap that continues to dog the Big 2.5.
Especially the Rendezvous. Hell, for what it was I thought it was a very nice vehicle, I've known several people who bought them and love them.

The guy went overboard in trying to make a name for himself, but for the most part, I caught myself thinking, "Yeah, that guy's got a point there..."
The Lincoln Mark LT...a garbage attempt at upscaling an F-truck. No Lighting engine or a v10? Go home.
I have always gotten the vibe of "crap" from an Aveo.
If the Aspen is a Durango rebadge (never researched it), that was sincerely a dumb move by DCX.
I never researched the Compass, but if it is Jeep's response to a Honda CRV, they need to hang themselves. This is a question Jeep answered that never was asked by the general public.
As for the Saab TB clone, see that's what GM gets into for making umpteen more remakes of another vehicle. It shows they went overboard...Saab did fine for years without an SUV, much less a rebadge.
Let's not even "go there" with the B9 Tribeca.
I can see where the author was going with this...

If the Mark LT is junk, then I guess that would make the Worlds best selling vehicle, the F-150 junk too.
The Monte is a two door Impala, if you don't like the Monte name on that car then fine, but I love how since it doesn't have the same drive wheels as it did 20 years ago it is junk.
The author knows nothing about cars.

It seems funny how the rebadged vehicles are crap, but not the originals. And honestly, the 9-7x is really nice. Far better than any TB, except maybe the SS. But seriously, the article sounds like it was written by a 14 year old.

As for the Aveo, I'm not sure what the point is. I'm pretty sure the list of crappiest cars is most likely to include the cheapest / bottom end cars. Aveo, Yaris, Fit, Kia Rio, etc. etc. I'm sure they are cheaper/junkier than most cars out there...consider the price point!
The Monte Carlo? Fine, he doesn't like the styling (subjective) or the placement of the MC name on a front driver (he's only had a decade to get used to it). How again does any of that make it one of the worst cars?
Answer: It doesn't.
The list also reflects just how en-vogue truck/SUV bashing is. How do you rate the H2 as being so horrible for just being what it is? It's a mammoth SUV that offers unique styling....but of course it's going to get bad gas mileage and stop/accelerate unimpressively....what SUV of that magnitude from any manufacturer that you want to meantion doesn't have these drawbacks? Is it because it's a horrible vehicle or it just is what it is?
They do this with every "worst vehicle" list too....I wouldn't put a Corolla on the list because it doesn't forge 2 feet of water or seat 8 passengers comfortably.....

Any of which might make them candidates for worst "bad marketing moves" or something along those lines. But simply being a rebadge of an already good vehicle (F150, Envoy, etc.) does not make the vehicle "bad".

The Monte Carlo is also a very popular car although we don't stock many of them. I really don't think most people care all that much anymore about the drive wheels on the MC, maybe it was a bigger issue about 5 years ago but not now.
Did you guys notice the initials after the comments on each car? This was a compiled article with comments from several individuals. Not to defend the authors, but it did come from more than one person.
I think some of you are making a bit much of this article. Not every article in which domestics don’t fare well is not necessarily “domestic bashing”.
As has been noted, this list is not the work of one person and it makes no pretense about this being not much more than a popularity (or un-popularity) contest and as such, isn’t exactly a enlightened discussion of the relative strengths/weaknesses/worth of the various vehicles mentioned.
I also happen to very much agree with what I see as the bastardization of the Lincoln “Mark” heritage by taking a great truck (the F150) and slapping a different name on it so that they can mark it up even more…although what’s really sad are the people who bought them!

Anyone who has rented an Aveo from me will come back and request it again. Yes they are very cheap cars but compared to the other cars we rent them against(Neon, Spectra, what have you) customers tend to prefer the Aveo. Among the cheap POS group the Aveo has a decent following at least in the rental world.
