My roof panel is starting to bubble due to the adhesive underneth. has anyone had this replaced under the 100,000 mile corrosion warrenty?

This is a known problem and any dealer should take care of it. I had mine done a few months ago and it ended up being a pain in the ass. I mean it's better than having the bubbles, but still. First getting the old panel off they cut into my quarter panels and then they mounted the new panel about half and inch too far to the rear of the car so the t-tops don't rest on the panel lip like they use to. I went round and round with the body shop and ended up getting things worked out mostly. Like I said, it's better than having bubbles, but still a lot of trouble. Just make sure that you talk directly to the guys at the body shop and physically show them what you want if it comes down to that. As I found out, even the most respected body shops can screw something up.

oneslowz28 -- I believe this only affects 98+ Camaros, so you're safe.

What exactly is this problem? I'm looking at purchasing a 2002 blue SS but noticed the spoiler had some bubbling on it (although it appears to have been repainted, poorly, once in other areas of the spoiler). There didn't appear to be any body damage otherwise.

Never mind.. I just found some pictures of the roof problem and it's nothing like that at all... Just a lousy paint job...

there are 2 things to look for. 1...look at the roof panel behind the t-tops. it is plastic and held to the metal body with an adhesive. Depending on how much was used, you will notice 2 lines of 'bubbles' along the roof. one close to the ttops, and the other close to the rear glass. if this is the case, that is your problem. The other problem effects all SS's that are a light metallic paint. on some parts of the car the paint might be a bit thin, and at some angles, it you can see the fiberglass or primer. also, some of the prepping from SLP might be a bit sub-par. but that will only effect the hood and wing. it does on my car in 2 spots. both spots about the size of a fist. and its not bad. only i can see it. someday i will get the whole car re-done. but for now, i am happy being a 24 year old with an emaculate SS that i bought for myself. :D

How did you guys get this corrected? My 2001 Z28 is having the same problem and I can't get a SINGLE Dealership to agree to repair it, the one closest to me says it is NOT covered in the rust thorough protection and that it's an ultra violet ray issue and they don't cover that?

Bottom line is, is there ANYWERE in writing that says GM will repair this (Not the TSB because that didn't work either) or someone I need to call to EXPLICITELY have GM repair this?
