Do you use the foaming brush at the DIY spray wash?

I'm talking about the Touchless pressure washer car washes that have that foaming brush.

I use it, but I run my hand over it to feel for any chunks or what not. If I have time, I'll spray it off first.

It feels soft. I don't think it would cause swirl marks...... would it??

Man, I can't wait to get my own place. Come to think of it I just need to get my own spray nozzle for the appartment's wash rack... we have a bay for car washing...

I gotta give the older do0d next door props, he spends as much time on his VW Bug as I do on my Z28... I guess he likes his car...

If there's a need to clean your wheel wells with the brush, spray the brush off with the sprayer first... ARF!

I would never, EVER use one of those on my paint. Think about how many people use that on a muddy vehicle or on their tires. I have to use those car wash places too because I live in an apartment..but I always bring a bucket and a cotton towel to wash with, along with some Zaino products:bow: . About the only thing I've found to be safe on a nice paint job are 100% cotton towels with the borders trimmed off..and yes you have to get the 10 dollar ones:cool:

It's not only the crap that's left on the brush, it's the brush itself that marks the paint. I also take a bucket and my supplies to the car wash when I go there (like when it's too cold to break out the hose at home). ;)

There was a Civic all riced out and I was behind him in my truck waiting patiently for him to leave so I could wash my truck. There were other spots open, but I was amused at his washing technique, so I watched him clean his car for about 10 minutes.

He started by cleaning his rims and wheels with the brush, got a little bit into the wheel wheel, then proceeded to clean underneath the rear of the vehicle with the brush. After that, he did the usual with the soap spray nozzle, rinsed the vehicle, and then went at it again with the brush on the whole car! What a dumbass I though. And its not like he was being easy on the paint either with the brush... he was going to town on the paint like when he brushes his teeth.

Well, thats all. I would never use them on anything on my vehicles... well... maybe to clean the bed of my truck if its dirty.

I use that brush to scrub the brake dust of my F150 daily driver! I would pour bottled water all over the car before I would touch the paint with that brush!

I watched a guy scrub the rear pumpkin of his jacked up dodge with one once. DO NOT put it on your paint!

I have a couple times but the car needed a paint job anyway so I didn't care.
I think what I'm going to do tomorrow is just spray it down with the soapy presoak or whatever and use my own sponge to clean the car.

I used it once on my windshield to remove the numbers that they put on at the track, but i would never use it on my paint. Only a good old hand washing with a chanelle mit and occasionally a light pressure wash when its too cold or i dont have the time for my Camaro.

you guys use soap on your car?!

I just lick the dirt off then wash the car with distilled water followed by 300 coats of wax.

Well when you have a fresh $6000+ paint job, you kind of want it to last a while and look good, so I take care of my paint.

I go to those wash stalls when it's too cold and I want to knock the salt off.

I only use the power washer, My goal is to knock the salt and crud off when I go there, so I dont care about water marks, I'd never use the brush, I imagine the've been everywhere:eek:

I used to before my paintjob. makes hella swirls. they always have bits of sand and stuff in them. dont do it man, trust me, even if you spray it out, they are still grody. always 100% made in the good ol US of A Cotton rags.
