Yep, picked up some new wheels last week from another board member. They have only 1000 miles on them and no so much as a scratch anywhere. The best part is I got them for a cool 300 bucks. I know they are not chrome and nothing flashy like you guys are used too, but I like them, they look better then my worn out 16x8 fat spokes, and I can run a fatter tire in the rear now.:)

Paint the center spokes black would look good.

Good deal. My 98Z had 10 spokes already on when I bought it. I really like the way they look. But the quality of the chrome... let's just say the chrome on 10 spokes deserves it's bad rep.

Those look very nice. Its tempting for me to do that, but these puppies only got a 1000 miles on them and no damage whatsoever.... I think I am going to have to leave them unmolested for awhile. What kind of paint did you use BTW, just some stuff from Autozone, or something else?

Very nice, what was involved in the evolution to the LE clones? I always loved that style of rim, brand new they were well over 600 hundred for a set. I would love to style mine as such, but am still hesitant to do anything to them considering the condition I got them in. Decisions, decisions.:(

Mucho time is involved. Mainly because I didn't have all the tools or space when I did it.
The machined surfaces are there under the paint. Stripping the paint w/out marring the surface and getting all of it out of the machined grooves is the first PITA. Taping the surfaces off for the black coat and not getting it bleeding under the tape into the grooves was the second PITA.
I'd recommend getting a cheap curb rashed set for experimentation before touching your nice ones.
