Tonight Show host Jay LenoÕs turbine-powered EcoJet concept introduced at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada Monday, October 30, 2006. The 650-horsepower (400 lb.-ft. of torque) Leno original is powered by a Honeywell LT-101 turbine engine that runs on bio-diesel fuel. The engine sits in a modified Corvette Z06 hydroformed aluminum frame with aluminum and magnesium structural and chassis components. The vehicleÕs shell is an advanced construction of carbon fiber over Kevlar. (General Motors Photo)

Could this be a way to get the Blue Devil to plant the 650 hp and still be Vette based?

Yes, a mid-engine can launch like an awd drive car without spinning its wheels since the engine is situated near the rear wheels. Ive seen it mentioned by GM engineers that a mid-engine can handle almost unlimited hp. To spread development costs this could justify the Blue Devil & Cadillac Cien.

No. BD will use a supercharged LSx V8, we know that. I am talking about a similar construction and mid engine drivetrain.

some people have been fighting for a mid-engined 'Vette in GM for a long time. They've never won out, and I don't think they'll win this time either.

I saw the car on another site this morning on my Q. It looks sweet even on a 320 x 240 screen.

That thing is awesome! It looks like the Cien but with a touch of the coke bottle look, the split window Vette, Batmobile in the rear but no Caddy emblem? Does this one drive or is it just for looks?

It'll be interesting to see how the Audi R8 does in the marketplace, as success there might bode well for GM's own entry into that market.
