Spy pics of the 09 Super Vette

Just surfing around and ran into these pics. Seems like the "Blue Devil" is going to be a reality. I guess Chevy feels the need for a 6.2L Supercharged v8 making 650hp in a Vette lighter than the current Z06, for $100K.

Seems to me the Z06 can in the right hands run with just about any top exotic built today but I hear the 08 Viper is supposed to have a 615hp V10 so I guess ya gotta keep up with the "Zetsche's" :D

I like the hood scoop

So all thats left is a cool name. I like ZL-1 but Mako Shark or Stringray would be nice too. Please not Vette SS....

Well, FWIW, they have two new shots that look like they're the same background as many of the SEMA cars' shots:

Its just you. The only thing I saw shopped was the liscense plate. Chris or Brenda wouldn't fake pics just to sell them, he has more class than that. BTW he posted a link when he and Brenda first sold pics of this car and then I posted similar shots just the other day so you get a REPOSTx2!

I think he's talking about the Camaro photos, which I agree, they look photoshopped.

Where?

In my mail. I don't want to violate the person's rights that took them. But they will probably be circulating in a few days any hows. :)

Hmm no MFT plate....

I suppose it could be a test car from a 3rd party tuner/builder.

It's not a GM vehicle...Chris...u know this just as well as I do...where's the barcode on the lower driverside of the front windshield?

It's not a GM vehicle. I doubt it's a 3rd party too....just GM playing games. Plus....no way GM would be testing a prototype with a citizen plate on it...no company would insure it.

Besides more horsepower, how else will the supervette be better than a Z06?

Carbon Fiber.

Carbon Fiber.
well that's a given. Tell the man what he really wants to know!
I'm hoping for GM to push the engine back just a hair more. Full race tranny gears. Revised cam, heads, intake. The facia masking suggests a revision for the intercooler.
(This is what I'm hoping for, not what might be in the car)

If the Z06 wasn't every kids dream car, this one will be.

It better have a crapload more carbon fibre than the Z06 then.

Oh...well...would most, or all, of the body be enough? Also limited use of polycarbonate.

Would the crash standards allow for a carbon fiber bumper?
Polycarbonate? It's about time.
I wonder if the Challenger Super Stock Concept has polycarbonate windows, I know original old Super Stock cars did.

Bumper, or bumper cover?

HAZ-Matt

There have already been street legal cars with all carbon fibre body panels; so as long as there is a bumper support under there I doubt there would be a problem. It would just be very expensive to fix if it gets damaged. :)
