In all honesty, Mazda should sue for likeness rights of the new Toyota front ends, and then sue them again for making it look down right fugly.

The new front end isnt my favorite, but its not that bad in my opinion. At least it isn't as bland as the 06-07 impala front end. But thats just me..

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing the clown resemblance, but I will agree that it's ugly

As to the Impala, I'd sooner take bland than ugly.

I think the new Toyota fronts kind of look like a baby Rhino. The horn looks like it will bulge through that hump in the front of the hood any day now.

Honestly, I think the biggest problem with the new Camry front end is the way they incorporate the Toyota logo into the styling.

I'd just awkward, or something.......

It just makes the whole front end annoying to look at.... and if I break the front end pieces down in my head, they aren't all that bad.... so, I dunno..... it's just weird.

I also notice that new Toyota models (Corolla, and now Camry) have very tall hoods, and the wheel wells look small by comparison, with small wheels. The car looks a bit comical if you view from the side.

Is this part of that European law that requires 4" of cushion space between the hood and the engine, in case a pedestrian is hit? Because it really looks ugly.

This image shows it a bit (http://www.imagerentacar.com/images/vehicles/toyota-camry-2007.jpg)

In my always humble opinion, there are very, very few truly good looking coups or sedans, especially in the market the Camry is reaching.

That aside, while people can make all the fun of it they want; Toyota is still selling a hell of a lot of them which, at the end of the day, is the only real "opinion" that matters.

Didn't they have to change to make it more "nascar friendly"? I kinda like the rear end of the new ones anyway....but yeah, the front isn't too appealing.

in my humble opinion, i agree with someone above who said the incorporation of the T logo is what kills the front end. It's also genuinely more attractive than the Impala, which is just very bland.

Its not entirely bad, but I'm not fond of it either.

More than that, it's where they put the cutline between the grille and hood. By moving it up higher than normal, it gives the grille more weight and prominence. If the cutline had've been lower and followed the line at the top of the headlights and grille, it would give it a more aggressive and less top-heavy look. But to do that they'd need to move the logo down.

Here's a quicky photochop to show the improvement of moving the cutline (I didn't feel like moving the logo)

R377 you did something seemingly extremely simple to it and it does look way the hell better. Following the headlights lines actually gives it a little bit of attitude? WAY BETTER. Still not the best, but come on.

I don't get it, what was so funny?

Anyway, the plain model is ok, but honestly I think it this trim it's a very nice looking car. First Toyota I'd consider owning.

Yeah, I suppose it was a little amusing. But I've seen it before, so it wasn't new to me. That, and I have so many gay, lesbian and bi friends it's second nature to accept anything relating to it without question.

I have a large group of lesbian/gay friends as well, but I still like to laugh about gay jokes and whatever. If youre too uptight to laugh about it, you probably arent really comortable with it. Not saying thats the case with you, just in general. If it doesnt hurt someones feeling directly then it can be funny still.

And we have the same Aveo. I love my little car. Over 1000 miles a week and its been good to me. :)

I've been wondering about this too. Can any engineers in the know ;) confirm this, or can it more attributed to Toyota’s blatant cockiness combined with hideous, industry wide, “me too!” Bangle-esque styling trends.

No, it doesn't bother me. I laugh my @$$ off at gay jokes. I guess since I'd seen that site in the past I just didn't get it. That's all.

I do call the Aveo my little Queermobile actually.

The car looks like they were trying to emulate a big 1940's Chevy or something. Not in a good way I dont like it. Maybe its me.
