I've had watermarks on my car ever since my car had a sprinkler spray on it for an entire week while I was in florida in June. I tried Vinegar, swirl mark remover for colored cars (it has some swirls in it) and kept it good and waxed after I couldn't remove it. I figured it's screwed and the paint sucked it down. Now I feel like trying something different with spare time I have as long as people dont say repaint it.

Have you tried claying it or useing a cleaner wax and a polish. I had some nasty waterspots on my fresh black paint. I used meguires clay bar kit and their 3 step paint cleaner, polish and caranuba wax. That process removed all of my water spots. If that doesnt do it, you could try a mild abrasive. And if that doesnt do it, you can either buff it out with a machine, or you can pay to have it professionally done. That should do it and after you get them off, make sure you put some wax or sealant on it and protect it so it wont happen again.

I'm unsure about using clay, but I did use a 3 step wax and before that I used 3m's swirl mark remover for dark colored vehicles

I work at a dealership, and only one thing really does a good job of getting rid of these spots. Unfortunately it is the strongest chemical we have. It is called Wire Wheel Acid. We typically only do one panel at a time since it can eat away the paint if it is left on for too long. Just make sure that the paint gets waxed afterwards.

I'll bet clay will take them off.
I had the same stuff happen to my black truck.
Nope, clay doesn't work if they are really on there.
1) try some vinegar mixed with water, this can take off the mineral deposits.
if that doesn't work
2) use 3m swirl mark remover PN 39009, I have NEVER had any spot this couldn't remove. If you do it right(buffing it with the compound, i can get them off with HAND buffing) it will polish the clear coat and remove the spots with abrasives.
And for some reasin if that doesn't work, call a professional detailer who uses a industrial buffer to get that crap off...............

The spots are etched into the paint. Polishing is the way to remove them - it may take a lot of work by hand.
