01 camaro vs. 03 or 04 cobra

SO my first race was sad to say on the street but I couldn't help myself. My camaro has just over 100k and I raced a cobra that was blown and hung with him. We took off and he started half a car length ahead of me, when my car shifted to third he had only gained a quarter car length. I was happy seeing as I have high miles and he was blown. I think with a top end race I would have eventually caught up.

probably not. i have a buddy with light mods pushing 440 and his 4th pulls as strong as his 3rd. when we raced i kept it close till we hit around 90 or so, at which point he started to pull away pretty bad.

You did well. Ideally, I would think that he would have a way bigger lead than that.

Maybe it was an older cobra, with a blower on it? Sure it was a 03/04?

They FLY. Like deep into 12's bone stock. An LS1, stock for stock, has no chance.

not true. they are hard to get good times in at the track, let alone the street. like i mentioned, with my DRs and a hundred pound advantage over the cobra i mentioned earlier i took him out of the hole, maintained the lead till 60 or so until he finally started pulling away at just under a hundred.

Ehh, you just gotta get used to a little 4.6. They like to rev and you cant pussy foot them off the line. They dont have the downlow TQ to get a good 60 and still go easy on things. And from a roll, their just nasty.

I wqas pretty happy and yeah I sure it was newer. Maybe the guy didn't know how to drive, but I don't give a ****. Driving is a part of racing you can have a bad ass car and still lose if you can't drive.
