2.2 60ft - Help

Im running the mods in my sig as of now. My 60 ft sucks a big one. Im thinking gears and sticky tires (thinking Nittos) will help my 60 ft tremendously. Any suggestions on what else?

Current tires are Supra 712's (275's)

sticky tires..like BFG Drag radials @ 13-15psi..and some Rear Lower control arms

Gears and tires will help quite a bit. Nittos are a pretty good drag radial and have some street manners to them, but BF Goodrich and Mickey Thompson make a better drag radial in terms of traction. Lastly, a higher stall torque converter, if you don't already have one, will really help shave your sixty foot times down as well.

I still need some street manners in the tire which is the reason why I was looking into the Nittos. The car doesnt have a stall in it yet, i spent all summer trying to get the transmission to handle the nitrous and other junk and not throw the cluth packs. I finally got that settled and working so i can now look into a stall for it for next spring.

Just get a pair of DR's for the track . Clearly, traction is your problem ;).

I thought about getting a set of DR's strictly for the track but i dont want to spend the money on rims to put them on. I had a little problem with buying rims this summer that I shouldnt of needed. (Medians arent your friend)

Yep, put the 255 50 R16s on some 16x8 stockers...The 16s have more sidewall and front to back contact patch over the 17s anyway...I went 1.55s to 60' with them last year...(M/T DRs)

I will still have the stock rear with just gears put into it. How long do you think that will hold up with DR's back there?

ive been running 315-35-17 nittos on 9.5x17(dont flame) on the back of my car for about 4 months or so, and i must say, they are great on the street. with my minimal bolt ons, its a bit harder to powerslide and have a little fun but its deffinitely worth it for the price and excellent traction compared to normal street tires. i was turning consistent 2.3 60's with 30 psi(DOH!). when i go back to the track, i plan on running 20 lbs or so and aim for some 1.9xs with my stock 3.42 10 bolt.

20psi is probably still to much for Nittos. My father in law has 275's, and his best 60' yet was with 16psi.

I drove around on 245 50 16 Nitto DRs for about 15k miles and never had a problem with them on the street. It actually makes it nice cuz u can get on it and not worry about spinning all over the place. They hook good at the track as well.
