just wondering if anyone has a car like this...

I'm thinking of redoing the exterior of my '94 to give it kind of a custom/factory type look. Read on and you will understand what I mean, grasshopper :p

I have a basic cookie cutter '94 black t-top Z. Right now it has a '00 SS spoiler on it,'97+ taillights, grey 1999 SS interior and dash and C5 y2k wheels. I want to change it up a little bit since it needs a repaint anyway.

Gunmetal grey paint below the roofline;black headlight doors, mirrors, tailpanel and roof. All jambs and eng. compartment painted.
SS emblems in black and silver, dash plaque
tailpanel 'camaro' inserts in gunmetal
'97+ taillights
17x9/17x11 gunmetal ZR1 style wheels
blacked out front turn lenses
fiberglass SS hood (non functional)
updating all my interior to ebony
6.4L LT1 decals on side of hood bulge(small)
GMMG quarter panels (if I can find any)

I know alot of SS purists out there wont like my idea, but I've always wanted an SS, but never bought one because I couldnt justify the extra cost for parts I was going to replace anyway. I just like the appearance, mostly. Besides, there arent many LT1 SS cars running around anymore.

Anyone out there have a car that kind of resembles this?

It's getting ready to become a weekend warrior and not a daily driver anymore. So advice is welcome.

OK, wrong terminology. You know the pocket around the headlight...

I spend too much time with old timers, haha;)

What are GMMG quarter panels? You mean like the Harrel Camaros? The wide body fenders?

headlight buckets is what I have also called it...

I like all the things you have talked about, except for the interior I like the '93-'96 interior better than the '98-'02 interiors. but thats just my $.02

Just an FYI, but GMMG unfortunately will not sell you their quarter panels.

Well that sucks. Too bad there isnt anything like that available aftermarket. I'd like to do something tasteful, but different.

I figured that whole idea behind this would be to have something good looking to relate to, with a scheme that's been proven to work, while using colors that look good together but arent normally used. Hope it looks as good as the picture in my head. I gotta decide now between the gunmetal grey on a viper and for the Vette to paint this thing in, and flat black on the tailpanel or gloss.

ya know it would be a sad day to find one of the gmmg cars ina salvage yard.. but i would LOVE to find one destroyed in the front end just to get those rear qaurters lol.

Are you serious? the 93-96 interior is terrible it looks like it belongs in a 3rd gen.

Yup, I hate the dash in the 97+ cars, the ac vents look like they belong in a truck not in a sports car.I could of had a my dash switched after my wreck for free but I didnt want it. I also think the seats look better. But all of that is just my $.02

Believe it or not, but the GMMG Dick Harrell cars actually have a different front bumper than GM cars. It isn't as pointed and is bigger to flow with the fenders and hood.

If you're going to wish for anything... hope that one has been rearended or had a piano dropped on the roof of it
