I drive a 1996 3.8 camaro with t-tops. It rained today, pretty hard, and when i got in the car both of the rear floorboards were full of water. I felt around the t-tops, the rear window, and the windshield and nothing was wet at all. I do park on an incline, with the hatch facing up, would this have anything to do with it at all?
Has anybody had a problem like this before? And if so, what was the cause and how did you go about fixing it?
Thanks

I had this problem about a month ago when a Hurrican came through here, it happened only on the passenger side, and nothing else was wet(passenger front seat, back seat which was folded down) yet there was about an 1-2" of water

Did you ever find the source of the leak?

you should check your hatch seal... if there are trees or other such around where you open the hatch a leaf or stick can get on the seal and basically make an opening for water, moisture or bugs can get in.
and obviously get that water out ASAP!

my front passenger footwell got water in it when I'd park facing downhill..
I found the problem in the front right corner of the passenger t-top, and built that area up w/ clear silicone. Good to go now.

Mine leaked over the winter. I vacuumed the floor taking up a pint of water at times. I removed the carpet the next spring and found the floor pan was very rust damaged. The carpet hadn't gotten wet for months but the padding was still soaked even though the top of the carpet felt dry. It took weeks for the padding to completely dry out. So, if you want to save your floor pan you might consider removing the carpeting. This means pulling the seats, seat belts and center console. I even removed the plastic trim panels.
Now, while I had the carpet out and interior panes off I thought I would try to find the leak. I took a garden hose and ran water over the lowest point watching for a trickle running down the inside of the car. Nothing. I continued to move the water flow upwards and kept watching for water coming in. I never found or was able to reproduce a leak. It was a mystery unsolved. I can say this for certain; the 4th generation camaro body allows the slightest amount of rain to come in around the window seals. Even if the window is down a tiny fraction of an inch, I get water dripping in to the floor and seats. You may have a window slightly down with no visible opening and any wrinkle or obstruction to a place on the T-top seal will create a temporary leak.

My trunk carpet was wet after "Driving" in the rain. Water came from missing rubber plug beneth carpet in trunk. Look under your car for the two plugs. Water from the road was soking my carpet. Good luck.

Well you guys are close, but way off. I would put my money that you have a broken hose, there are two drain hoses that are on 4th gen T-top models that go from the top of the roof down to the floor, well if one of the are kinked or broken water will find its way on to the floor of your car.

I bet you are right, because nothing else was wet in my car both seats were dry and the back seat was folded down and the front seat was pushed all the way back so I dont know how else water would have gotten there and that muich of it. Where would I have to look to find this hose to see if mine is broken??

Anybody know where to look for that hose?
I took my t-top off and all I could find was a hole that runs inside the soft rubber seal that seals the window and door. The seal is hollow and water running into it will eventually find a few square openings in that very long seal to the top of the rocker. This will allow water to channel its way just outside the door sill under the door. I verified this with a piece of coated electrical wire. If there is a tube coming from up there, I was unable to find it.
