Quirky wipers

The wipers on my 99 TA tend to act a bit quirky every now and then.

Like last Saturday when it was sprinkling a bit and I put the switch to the lowest speed on intermittent. The wipers would not move. Neither would they move when I moved the switch to either of the continuous speeds.

However, when I hit the wiper lever, the wipers come alive. It has done pretty much the same thing earlier, too. Sometimes it will wipe when you use the "mist". Sometimes they work only when on continuous wipe, sometimes only on delay. And sometimes they work without a hitch...

So, I guess the motor is not bad. What is it, then? Suggestions? Experiences? I remember reading something about the circuit board on the motor, but couldn't find anything right now.

TIA! :thumb:

Well... Seems like many people have similar problems, but nobody posts how they resolved it.

I guess it's time to get a new motor and go from there.

It sounds like its switch related if when you hit the switch the wipers take off. The switch is inside the column not that little lever with the cruise on it.

Yeah, the switch was also on my mind. I wonder how easy it is to replace, though...

And where to find one... Seems like if you type wiper switch on Ebay, for example, pretty much the only thing that comes up is the lever assembly. :blah:
