So...I bought a painless wirirng harness.
So...I bought a painless wirirng harness.
I started the LT1/T56 swap in my 87 Camaro during spring break and removed the TPI and installed the LT in 4 days, and made an attempt to wire it up. It didnt work. I went back to work and school and havent touched the car since. Today I ordered this harness. Does anyone know what this involves? How many wires will need to be spliced? Is it truly painless?

I dont know about others but I have found their wireing to be anything but Painless.. unless you have alot of experiance in wireing it can be quite frustrating trying to figure out their diagrams , the TPI / lt-1 harness should be pretty easy but I would mock everything up first and dobble check the wire codes before making any permenant connections.

I absolutely hate painless harnesses. I am very good at wiring and their product is very dissapointing. If you still have the TPI harness, look around for a shop that will convert the harness to an LT1 spec for you (www.speedscenewiring.com) (www.fuelinjection.com). Or, check out ebay and get a harness for the motor you have. I have a 95/A4 harness that I will sell for $100.00 + shipping. I will even mod the harness if you would like for a small fee. Either way, I would return the painless harness and get the proper harness.
