My whole rear is blown! The local salvage has several rears with TC, but none without. Can you put a TC rear in a non TC car? how much modification needed?

TIA, Ronsws6 Capn Pete 10-13-2006, 03:11 PM Huh, what you're going to need from your original diff is either A) the carrier (if it's not broke? ) or at least the reluctor ring off the carrier (I'm not sure if/how they come off:think: ). As well, the TCS diff won't have the hole drilled in the top of the diff housing where your ABS (speed) sensor goes, so you'd need to drill that to put the speed sensor in (which reads, you guessed it, the reluctor ring;)). I don't know if there would be an issue using the TCS axles with reluctor rings on the out ends of them ... I don't see why not? It's usually easier going from Non-TCS to TCS . jacksonsoloist 10-13-2006, 03:27 PM I was afraid so. I'll just have to keep looking I guess. I don't wanna have to pay an arm and leg to ship one from billy graham so i'm trying to find one locally. Thanx for the info! Capn Pete 10-13-2006, 04:04 PM Is your carrier toast? jacksonsoloist 10-13-2006, 04:29 PM Prettymuch, I broke an axle, and stripped a pinion, and parts ripped thrpugh the limited slip. She's dead.:dead: jacksonsoloist 10-13-2006, 04:32 PM I know what others will say. "put a moser 12 bolt or a 9" if yer makin' that much power." But I am broker than broke, and she's my only source of transportation. I've got to get her fixed cheaply and quickly. 2001NBMZ28 10-13-2006, 08:16 PM Have you asked in the Texas forum? Someone may be able to help. If you're really in a pinch and plan on updating later I'm thinking you can put a TC rear in the car, but you'll loose your ABS...someone please correct me if I'm wrong. | ||
