How fast is a 2005/2006 Z06 Vette? Ran into one today. He was sure interested in showing off but I'm not ready for racing yet (new motor). Plus, street racing on US 1 at noon isn't the best idea. But, just wondering how much RWHP its gonna take to beat one. Assuming I can plant the power with a good suspension. I've got a 96Z28 with a stroker and soon to be connected D1SC.

i think they run low 12's, high 11's so i guessing they are in the 115-118 trap. mod depending, 370-400rwhp would be needed. (tires and driver a big influence) and also if you are talking from a roll or dig.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, *Need Clarification!!!* 2006+ Z06, or 2004- Z06?! 2005 Z06 doesn't exist, and there's a ~100 HP difference between 2004 and 2006 ;).

C5 Z06's ('02 - '04) typically dyno around ~360 rwhp, +/- a bit. The 01's are lower, because they were only rated @ 385 HP (different cam and exhaust than '02 - '04). I think they usually dyno in the ~340's. At the track, they run from mid-high 12's (01's) right down into low 12's / high 11's for a well driven '02 - '04 :thumb:. Trap speeds in the 113 - 118 mph range.

C6 Z06's ('06+) that I've seen are dynoing ~455+ rwhp, stock!! 1/4 mile wise, I think they're pretty much a guaranteed ~11.5 second car, around ~125 mph. I've seen #'s posted of 11.20's @ ~127 mph (again, STOCK! :thumb: ).

I don't know what to expect from your setup, but low 11's is where you need to aim to match a C6 Z06 . I'm sure you'll at least be in the C5 Z06 territory though .

good point pete, for the record i was referring to c5. i knew c6 z06's ran ~11.7, but i didnt know they were even faster stock:eek: the 2008 s/c z06 must run 10's at that rate

It was an C6 Z06 Vette. He nailed it from a dig and when 2nd gear hit he got pretty loose. Low 11's? Impressive.

I have seen stock 2002 Z06 run 11.5s with a good driver in good air at a good track. Traps were 119... I imagine the 2006s are much faster...
