I just got back from the MFBA Mayhem in Morocco track rental not to long ago and I had a great time!

Day started off with a member of the club accidentally performing the "!passener mirror" mod for me...I think the extra weight savings and aerodynamics of not having a mirror helped me get my new bests. :D

I got 3 new bests...NA, 100 shot, and 150 shot.

NA Best...1st run of the day

1.7659 60'
8.3050 1/8th ET
82.10 1/8th MPH
13.0909 1/4 ET...SO CLOSE TO 12s!!!
102.51 1/4 MPH

100 Shot Best

1.6098 60'...WOW (new best)
7.5158 1/8th ET
89.68 1/8th MPH
11.8871 1/4 ET...FLYIN!
111.88 1/4 MPH

150 Shot Best...1st time I've ever run a 150 shot

1.6696 60'...150 shot off the line is too much for my tire and suspension combo
7.4687 1/8th ET
92.42 1/8th MPH
11.6948 1/4 ET...DAMN!!!
116.20 1/4 MPH...New Best Too!

Well I fell a little short of my overall goals for the car the way it say, but it is a 3700 lb street car with 117K miles, and a road race suspension...Stock Motor TB to Oil Pan, and 100% Stock Rear and 3.23s

Overall I am very very pleased with the car, and I can't believe how far it's come. It looks great for being 11 years old and having 117K miles, and it runs better than most LT1s, so I can't complain!

Now comes the next step...it's finally happening! Forged 355, more Nitrous, and a little cosmetic help too. It's good to finally have a real job and have a little money to play with the car. Hopefully next year brings even more great things for me car wise!

Motor is 100% stock TB to Oil pan, car has full bolt-ons...K&N, MSD Digital 6, SLP Shorty Headers, Borla Cat-Back, no cat, FLP Level 4 Tranny w/ 3200 Stall Vig

Suspension is a road race set-up, not really good for drag racing, but the car still 60's nicely. Bilstein Shocks, Eiback Pro-Kit, 1LE Sway Bars, BMR LCAs and PHB, Random Tech Torque Arm set at -2%

Tires at the track are MT Sportsman Pros 26x16x8.5...same compound at ET Streets and ET Drags, but with more tread. Heavy 17x9 SS wheels up front

Car has Stock Tune, Stock Rockers, weighs 3700+ pounds with me in it

If I got the car tuned, ran some skinny's up front, ditched the front sway bar, and got rid of the heavy aftermarket stereo stuff it would run 12s on motor no problem. But I am tearing the engine apart this winter, so I am not gonna worry about that stuff now.

Even with the spray the motor is still running great as you can see. The rear is still holding strong too with probably well over 100 passes at the strip. Trans isn't an issue since I upgraded to the FLP Level 4 a few years ago.

Spray is fun and addicting, just gotta remember to be safe...I run it a little rich and pull some timing on the bottle and never have any problems. The car might pick up a tenth or 2 if I leaned it out a little and ran a little more aggressive timing, but I prefer to play it safe since I drive the car to and from the track every time.

Nice times, and like your last sentence says, better safe then sorry when it comes to tuning for the giggle gas. ;)

How is the FLP tranny working for you? I was planning on dealing with them in the spring possibly for a tranny rebuild and converter upgrade.

It's working very well. I have never had a problem with it and I have friends running them with no problems as well...one is a 383 car. Their trannies are expensive, but worth it IMO.

A nice sized cam and that thing would be VERY close to a 10 second slip! :)

Well the 1st week of the new year it's going under the knife for a new forged 355, custom cam, and some nicely ported heads. Realistically I'de like the car to run high 11s on motor and mid 10s or better on a 200 shot. :D

We'll see how long that 10 bolt lasts!

Very nice, I plan on putting mine under the knife this spring and doing a heads/cam install. Where are you going to get your forged shortblock from? Somewhere local?

Speed Inc.

They have killer deals on LT1 shortblocks, better than most of these places that people on the boards seem to love.

Talk to Larry and he'll hook you up with everything you need.

Yeah, I've been researching them, they do have some of the best prices I've seen. Do you think the forged shortblock will hold up to a mild heads/cam package and a 150-200 shot of spray?

Yeah, a forged crank, pistons and h-beam rods have held up for over 2 years running 200HP n2o regularly. I am going to spray 250HP on it this weekend if all goes well. I ran 150HP on a stock shortblock with heads/cam and ran 10.80's@125mph. Goodluck Later guys.
