What's the Stock U-Joint Size for 4th Gens?

Looking for confirmation on the stock u-joint size for 4th Gen Camaros ... Where the rear of the driveshaft mates to the 10 bolt rear ...

Is it a 1310 or 1330 ???

Thanks ...

I've been told by a driveshaft specialist that a driveshaft with 1330 u-joint will bolt up to the 4th Gen 10 Bolt with no modifications to the 10 bolt yoke ... Is this true?

The stock U-joint size is a 1344 (at least thats the number used by the OE manufacturer). However, 1344's are a size only used in plastic injection applications. I believe the 1350 would be the snap ring size that fits in place of the originals. When you buy them at the store they should be able to confirm this.

Did you mean 1330 and not 1350 in your reply? Thanks

Re: What's the Stock U-Joint Size for 4th Gens?

Ok ... I finally found that the stock ujoint is called a Saginaw 3R or somtimes referred to as S44 ...

The dimensions of this ujoint are very similar, if not the same, to the 1330 ujoint ... The 1330 measures approx. 3 5/8" wide with a face diameter of approx. 1 1/8" ... I measured an old stock steel shaft and got approx. 3 5/8" wide and a face diameter of approx. 1 1/8" ... So I guess these are pretty much the same except with how they are held in place ... The Saginaw 3R uses a C clip to hold the u-joints within the yoke and the 1330 series uses injected plastic to hold the u-joints with the yoke ...
