Hey guys currently my SS is black and I'm looking to get it painted Sunset Orange Metallic :D   Can anyone give me an estimate on how much this may cost??? (With the cost of the paint and the cost of having the actual car painted). Also, I'm in the Chicagoland area, anyone know any good places to get this done (within about 2-3 hours of Chicago). Thanks.

Every shop/painter will be different. A good job will run $2500-$7500+ for a complete color change. 1-2 color coats and 2-3 clear coats should be a minimum.
You need to look at vehicles they have painted (in person) and inspect them well.

a color change like what your wanting will be the most expensive because you also have to consider the small things like painting the door jams...under hood lining...etc...
WHY CHANGE THE BEAUTIFUL EBONY BLACK COLOR ON AN SS!!!

If you dont paint the door jambs or under the hood, and the car doesnt need any body work, I would expect to pay $2500.

since the car is black, you can get away with not getting the engine bay painted, it would look just fine. Don't cheap out and leave the door and trunk jams black though...you'll regret it in the end.

What about 2-tone.....SOM top.....Black bottom.....That way you don't have to jam it.
Have someone chop the look for you;)

As far as Silver Vinyl Stripes, theres a guy in Florida that I've order smaller vinyl items from named Brent Franker.
He sells a set of anniversary stripes for $175 shipped. Check out his site

Also, I don't know if he offers this for such a large decal or what the cost is, but for most vinyls he has an upgrade option to purchase higher grade vinyl that is also reflective, which means it'll look normal during the day but glow at night from the reflection of light on it (LOOKS AWESOME). You may want to check into that.
