I have spun my crank hub and cannot keep it tight now. When I rebuild I will go with a keyed hub. But for now does anyone know where I can buy a new hub and any suggestions on keeping it from happening again? Thanks

As for now I would hit up thunder racing for one of their stock hubs thats keyed. -B SC/TA 09-29-2006, 05:46 PM Is there a key slot on the crankshaft that will work with the keyed hub from thunder? boosted-lt1 09-29-2006, 07:51 PM SC/TA: Yes, the stock crank has a key way in it. Look in to ASP Racing. They will machine a new hub from steel for you for similar cost to that of Thunder's stock, used hub. -Scott. SC/TA 09-29-2006, 09:27 PM Thanks for your help, I will check with ASP. slimdawson 09-29-2006, 11:36 PM I had the same problem. I got a used stock hub, drilled 3 holes in it and tapped it for set screws. Slathered the crank in loctite and put on the hub. I drilled into crank just enough for the set screws to grab. I haven't had any problems since. Eric Bazan 10-02-2006, 12:07 PM Thunder Racing is currently on back order for these hubs. Seems their supplier does not want to machine them anymore. They have a new suppplier, but were immediately put on back order. I just ordered the jegs hub myself. It should bolt right up to the stock dampner. Although, jegs said I need to buy their dampner to go with their hub. Guess, Ill find out. Eric Bazan 10-05-2006, 09:55 AM I received the hub from Power Bond (AKA: jegs) and it is a nice piece. I dont know why they say you have to use thier balancer with this hub. The only thing that my warrant this is the small spring pin in the face of the hub. I removed the pin and placed my new napa balancer on it, and it fit fine. I would post a pic or two, but it says Im not allowed to post attachments. :( Eric | ||
