GenoB4C 09-21-2006, 10:03 PM Over 2 years until I get my new Camaro. My jeep wasn't going to last another 2 years. I didn't want to make the B4C a daily driver. No way I was going to buy a Mus..... I can't even write the name. After much thought, this is my temporary fix. I'm gonna drive the hell out of this thing for two years. If the new Z/28 has the LS-2 also, I'll be all warmed up and ready to trade.
This is one ground poundin' beast... Lots of power... give it a look if you need something to tide you over, but don't want to drop 60K on a Vette.

OctaneZ28 09-21-2006, 10:23 PM Nice choice! The TBSS is one fine vehicle indeed. :)
GRNcamaro 09-21-2006, 10:25 PM looks nice man
BadAssed93Z 09-22-2006, 12:29 AM ive seen them go 14.0 at 100mph, paper filter stock.
not bad for an suv, not to mention, no track prep, and mid summer florida heat.
SCNGENNFTHGEN 09-22-2006, 12:38 AM That's the first one I've seen in that color! Nice choice, it looks awesome in that color.:thumb:
95 Z/28 LT1 09-22-2006, 06:14 AM I did the same thing to hold me over for the next two years too.
GenoB4C 09-22-2006, 07:23 AM That's the first one I've seen in that color! Nice choice, it looks awesome in that color.:thumb:
Thanks. I think last years blue was quite a bit lighter. This is a nice dark stealthier blue. Almost black in some light.
And with all wheel drive and meaty 20" tires, there is no tire spin. Talk about a coffee splashing launch! That probably helps getting to that 14.0.
I live in a small town, too. About 32,000 population, and I mean NOBODY has one. The local dealer couldn't get an alocation for even 1. I got this in Indy from Bud Wolf Chevy. Great guy that Andy Wolf. Big Chevy Camaro guy. Has a pristine 68 Yenko at his dealership. He got to go to the Concept party. He's bowtie all the way.
Pardon, while I find an excuse to run an errand in the SS ......
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee................
SSbaby 09-22-2006, 09:20 AM I think about this same question every day. As tempting as the new VE is, I just love my current ride so much that it's good enough to want to make me keep it for a few years longer... until Camaro hopefully lobs downunder. I just hope the car doesn't age and my interest wane. The industry is just so competitive that IMO it's silly to reveal cars years before their release... but GM's position is different and I can see why they went down the road they did with this cult car.
ChrisFrez 09-22-2006, 09:29 AM Beautiful, I did the same thing :) Mine is the Red Jewel Tintcoat.
GenoB4C 09-22-2006, 09:33 AM Beautiful, I did the same thing :) Mine is the Red Jewel Tintcoat.
Sweet. I love that red. It was going to be my other choice, but the Blue was available so I took it.
Thats 3 bought on this thread. I think I see a trend. :)
poSSum 09-22-2006, 09:54 AM we bought one last December. It was "mine" for about a week. I let my wife drive it and now it's "hers" and I'm right back to square one. :( I may be putting winter tires on the Camaro SS.
Jacoz35thSS 09-22-2006, 10:00 AM Congrat!! You are going to love this!! I really miss mine, but it was my daily driver and when you put on 40K miles a year at $3 for gas, you do the math. That is a great color choice, new for '07. Wiat until you hit 3-5K on the odo. It really starts to open up. It's darn'er impossible to keep your foot out of it with that exhaust. If anyone has doubts GM was just slapping SS logos on everything go drive it. Go to the www.trailvoy.com Those guys stay pretty well up on things. One guy is adding twin turbos to his and there are tons of mods. Best of luck!!!
jg95z28 09-22-2006, 10:44 AM I seriously have the new car itch. :p My last new car was my 95 Z28. (If you don't count my 67 Camaros, or my wife's 02 Tahoe.) Last year we bought our oldest son a 2005 Trailblazer. (LS, not SS ;) ) They really are great car... trucks. I'm even thinking of a new Silverado. But although my wife has no problem with me buying a new car, I think doing so would seriously harm my chances on convincing her I need a 09-10 Camaro when the time comes. Anyway, nice choice. I love the color as well. I hope they offer it on Camaro when it returns.
Diognes56 09-22-2006, 11:47 AM Nice ride. Congrats :D .

BigDarknFast 09-23-2006, 07:53 AM A certain GTO is holding me over til 09 :)

The TBSS is nice and all... especially if you must have four doors. But it's no match for the new GTO, in road handling or at the track. I'm sorry, I'm just not a truck person. The TBSS is too easy to mistake for just another 6-cylinder SUV. And I think if I had to get something with a V8 and four doors, it would be a Grand Prix GXP anyway.
Jason E 09-23-2006, 01:06 PM I can vouch for Geno's choice of car dealer ;) Andy Wolf is a great guy...I met him in BG last year, and talked with him again at the Camaro unveiling. I have his business card here, and around the time they start allocating Camaros, he'll be getting a call for sure!! By the time I get back from Indy, the car will be broken in at least...
formula79 09-23-2006, 02:13 PM I have my GTO:)

 Why would you even make the comparison? The TBSS and the GTO have basically nothing in common except the engine under the hood.
For a car that weighs approx 800 pounds less, I would hope to hell that the GTO would out perform it.
For what the TBSS is though, it is much more tuned for performance than most people give it credit for.

Exactly how much faster is an LS1 auto Goat versus an LS2 TB SS 2wd?
HooliganZ 09-23-2006, 07:59 PM I know it's not a TBSS, it's not really a performance vehicle for that matter but I just picked up a 2007 Silverado Z71 Crew Cab. I will probably pick up a new Camaro in 2010. That's the plan any way.

I agree the TBSS is well-tuned for performance, given its inherent limitations. And for those needing 4 doors, it's a fine compromise. But I made the comparison with my GTO for a specific reason - The thread starter asked a specific question. What to do until 09? So for the same reason you are confused about me comparing the GTO and the TBSS... I'm frankly a little confused how anyone thinks the TBSS is a suitable substitute for the upcoming Camaro. In my opinion, the LS2 GTO is the closest thing available today... and it's perfectly appropriate therefore, to draw the distinction between the TBSS and the GTO. JM02
BigDarknFast 09-24-2006, 01:42 AM Exactly how much faster is an LS1 auto Goat versus an LS2 TB SS 2wd?
I have no idea. My GTO has an LS2, not an LS1, and it's about.... 800 lb faster than the TBSS :D

I did the same thing got mine in Black 2wd 2007 with the new 100k warranty. It will serve as our family cruiser when the pups come. It fast as hell. Im actually starting to see them around quite a bit more lately it seems we arent the only ones who think this way. I love mine
Jacoz35thSS 09-25-2006, 09:48 AM I still haven't seen that many in Milwaukee. As far as it goes, if you have a TBSS in the winter that are the cat's meow. Crazy get up and go, not to mention great traction. Serious fun all year 'round!
