Announcing Camaro/Video Contest winners.......

You may recall that I offered a challenge a few weeks back -- to see who could put together the 'best' Camaro or Camaro/Firebird video.

-- there are many great videos out there on the 'net -- but I only got about a half dozen entries.

Select attendees at the Fbody Reunion at the National Corvette Museum watched the videos and then voted........and the results are:

.....In Third Place -- Jason Debler -- for his idea of a perfect Camaro Launch Commercial entitled "Bring on the Storm" Jason has been working on this idea for quite some time and this would be the perfect "teaser" commercial just prior to the Camaro going on sale. Great job, Jason!


.....In Second Place -- Matthew Adams -- for a very powerful tribute to the Camaro and Firebird entitled "Fbody Movie" -- very moving soundtrack and great shots of Camaros and Firebirds from past and present -- plus the Camaro concept car. I was very much moved by this work.......


And.........in First Place -- Tim DeYoung -- for a retrospect (in some ways) and current look at the Camaro entitled "What's In The Box?" -- Tim has a story to tell about the "Gray Box" and a "Dreaded Black Suburban." Great job, Tim -- a little of the past -- a little of the present -- and a whole bunch of future!!


GREAT JOB, Guys -- TREMENDOUS!! -- the crowd loved it! I thank you for all your hard work to put these tributes together --

To tell the truth, my practical side has been asserting itself recently and I have been thinking when I graduate from school I will need to buy a compact 4 door sedan or small CUV. But F*CK that I am back BABY!!! Bring on the 5th gen. I will just learn how to fit a carseat in that car one way or another!

That car looks so, so good going down the road...its so different seeing it rolling down the road versus up on the turntable at NAIAS. I loved it in person, but it looks even better out on the road.

I've discovered I have a real problem...I won't sell my Z, or my RS (its amazing when you go through a car PROPERLY how much it costs!!!!!), but I need a Hugger Orange SS 5th gen badly :) I don't have a car loan anymore because of my demo, so I can easily buy one...the problem is where the hell will I put it?!?! Most houses I'm looking at only have a 2 car garage.

Guess I'll have to build a garage-mahal out back after I buy my new house ;)

Jason, I like yours, but theres something about the narration I cant put my finger on. too much maybe? timing? The narrator talks through the quiet nervousness sometimes when all you can hear is thunder and a storm is comming to kick your ass. I watched it a few times wondering what storm. But when I turn the sound off and the narration goes away it makes more sense like a bad ass hell on wheels or batman type scene trudging through the storm, I like it alot better.

could just be me :)
