Difference between Walbro gss-307m and gss-340m?

I am possibly buying a procharger kit, and the guy is going to throw in a new-in-box gss307m Walbro 255lph pump with it.

From what I can tell, it is rated at 255lph, 60PSI max.

The Walbro 255lph gss360m pump is a significantly higher pressure pump.

My question is, what is the difference between these two? Can you modify the 307 to work at the same pressures a 360 will churn out?

And if I used an In-Line boost a pump, does it really matter which in tank I use?

I plan to eventually go with a 383-396 low compression stroker that will see 14+psi ... And I dont want to buy a fuel pump twice if I dont have too.

Basically, I am going to be shooting for a set up very similar to RSKrause's car. So ...

You guys think that the 307 pump (Which is still a 255, just at 60PSI max), with a in line boost a pump would be sufficient for 600 RWHP F.I. ? Or would I need the 255 Hi Pressure Walbro?

Thanks, and moderators, if you think this needs moved, sorry and go for it. I just figured this is something that one of the guys in LT1 tech would HAVE to know.

What's the price difference? Would it be a big deal just to get the 340?

Straight from the Racetronix site...

The GSS340 pump is required if you plan on running fuel pressures higher than 60PSI with a supercharger, turbo, FMU etc. The less expensive GSS307 is not recommended for high pressure applications.

The 307 is basically a replacement pump for a Mustang that runs at lower fuel pressure than the LT1 uses.

Yea, but companies will say anything to sell a more expensive product.

From what I read up on them today, they are identical other than that the one bleeds pressure off at 60PSI. There has to be a simple easy way to change this.

And its not so much the price that matters, the guy I am getting the ProCharger from is throwing this in too, and its new in box ... So if its just something stupid and little that makes it bleed off pressure ( Because the acutaly Pump part of the pump assembly is the same) there has to be a way to mod it to make it work. Then I dont have to dick around with trying to sell it, waiting for a new 340 ... etc.

It doesn't really matter because whether you have a single 340 or a 307, NEITHER would be enough fuel for a 600rwhp+ blower car, even with an inline. At that HP level, you should be running dual 340's or a big aeromotive with modified fuel system or equivalent.

Ehh, RSKRause did it with a Bosch 255 LPH and a Boost A Pump, on stock lines, with modified rails. Im not sold on needing dual pumps either.
