repainting engine bay!

I have my motor out and need some tips on repainting the engine bay! Does anyone have a link to FAQs or tips? Thanks!

I am doing the same thing, get as much as posible out the way, make sure there not a spec of oil or dirt anywhere to be painted, key the old paint with a fine scotch pad. Mine is being delayed cos the wife and kids want to go to spain for 2 weeks and i have to go with them. might fake an illness so i cant fly

I just pulled my engine and plan to clean/paint /detail myself. Any pics/tips would be a great help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stripped the paint where the battery acid ate away at the paint and wiped everything down twice with paint thinner to lay down the primer! Looks good and wasn't exactly rocket science. I'm just going to scuff down the rest of the paint and wipe it down before spraying paint. I'm going to try and find a can of engine enamel thats close to the OEM color. I can't justify spending $75.00 on a quart of paint.
