I bought a new project car (not an F-body). Looking to drop in a turbocharged LS1.

What kind of compression ratio should I run on the motor to support 12-15 psi?

What turbos should I use? One small and one big? I can squeeze two into the engine bay. Or would I be better off with a single?

Aiming for 600 rwhp. But I'm using it as a daily driver. :p

one single.
stock cube or as close as possible
8.5-1 or 9-1 would be pefrect.

people really went with twins on smaller 4,6cyl engines to make up for the lag due to there engines nature lack of TQ.
with an LS1 base engine i would use 1 single. Less clutter fewer parts makes it easier.

ls1tech will be your friend... tons of turbo ls1's over there. Thee are alot of companies that make single kits for LS1's, but you made need a custom depending on the vehicle you put it in.

What are your power/track goals... that will determine the c.i. and turbo size.

10s. But I want to be able to drive it to work if thats possible. Otherwise I'll aim for 11s. Has to be able to do daily driver duty.

I have a local guy who has turbo'd many different cars. Has a 10 sec 240SX which will soon be a 9 sec car. He will be doing the fabrication.

A T76 would be perfect for you...

What kind of fuel economy would a 9:1 compresion LS1 get off the boost? Like stock? So I should try to keep it a 5.7L not a 6.0 or 6.2L stroker?

if i where to do mine all over again i would keep it as close to stock cube as possible.
and as far as gas..if its 9.1 if you keep your foot out of it you should get great gas mileage out of it.
if you do go stroke its alot more expensive my long block is in the 20's compared to 6-9k for a stock cube with decent hard parts, most of which you will be able to find used on ls1tech for half of new.

You should be fine up to 383ci with the T76... backpressure will be less with stock cubes, but it will still make your goal with the 383ci.
