whuts up guys well I drove the camaro down to tenn. and back about a 600 mile round trip I got about 2200 miles on the motor and trans now and believe it or not on the way back with all highway miles I got 22 mpg and I was running 90 mph about 170 of those miles.

Anyways to the good stuff I figured my car would compete with cars down there but not beat everyone I raced, but I never got beat only had one car run with me and it was a ram air ls1 trans am with full bolt ons 150 shot of nitrous and whatever he might not have told me. I think I could beat him through the 1/4 we started at about 20-30mph and I listened for him to nail it then I nailed it and stayed ahead of him by about a fender but I left my car in overdrive by mistake and it shifts out of drive at about 6000 instead of 6500 where I usually shift then when I did that he pulled right up beside me. the guy said he runs consistant 11.70 so that makes me feel pretty good about my car being able to hit 11's I'm going to hopefully find out next month.

list of cars I out ran

supercharged 88-93 mustang
new saleen supercharged
66 mustang with 331 stroker
late model lightning with mods probably a solid 12 sec truck
ls1 camaro who replied that cars not hardly stock huh.
another ls1 trans am
tubbed s10 with a 400
lt1 camaro with mods and draglites
then my favorite race we were messing with these two chicks in a convertible mustang and asked them to race and they said they wouldn't but their guy friends would in their mustang gt but be ready cause its fast. they pulled in down there and acted bad kept revving it. it sounded good then they took out real fast I chased them down we made a u turn to go back the other way and he nailed it before I got out on the road then I hit it and just blew his doors off. They said my car was just nasty. then I went back and asked their girls if they had anyone faster to race and she got snotty and wouldn't talk anymore thought you guys might want to hear about it.

yea probably but the point i'm tryin to make is how good these lt1's run with a little work and what they are capable of. I just wanted to brag them up a little and figured the other lt1 guys would wanna hear it.

One of my buddies went down to that thing. He said he saw some awesome cars and trucks. As far as the racing goes, I like that you don't back down from anybody and you'll turn and burn with anybody who wants some. I love to see a Z28 do well no matter what's under the hood. That is one badd-ass Z28 you got there.

yea when I was down there I'd pretty much give anybody a chance alot of the stock ls1s and stuff once I pulled a few cars on them id just coast through. I hope this car stays together a long time this go round I'm still a little worried about the apply pistons in the transmission I didn't know that they make steel pistons for 4l60's until after I got the trans back in the car I think thats the only weak point left in it though, other than the 10 bolt but the car wont hook from a dead stop anyways so it shouldn't break. I hope to find out if the car is bad next month when I get some track times I'll consider it bad if it pulls 11's I think it will because alot of the cars I raced down there were 12 second cars easy and I pulled away from everything I raced except the t/a with the 150 shot, which runs 11.7's we stayed pretty close the whole race. later
