Coupe or convertible. Any options. Thanks! chris200120022000 06-06-2007, 11:01 PM i have a original 1967 camero Rs coupe. Its came as a sandelwood gold inside and out. It has power windows, power steering, powerbrakes, a/c, rear window defoger all from the factory with hideaway head lights. It originally had a 283 cubic engine with a powerglide trans mission. It no longer has the 283 but it stills has it original transmission. The story is the car belonged to a good freind of the family. he owned the car 1973 to feb of 2007. last time the car ran was 1981. he brought the best small block chevy offered at the time, which was the Lt-1 350/370 hp with the optional angle port heads. The engine was fully built within the week of when the parts were brought, i know this because my father, whose is very experience engine builder at the time he built this engine in 1979.The engine has been sitting in the car from 1979 to present built it. engine never been ran or been cranked. No oil or antifreeze has ever been used. The reason it because the guy lost interest in because of his prize vette at the time.Thecar is pretty solid not alot of rust on the doors, front fenders. all the glass is there in good shape. engine compartment is in great shape for a car that has been sitting for 27 years. But the rear quarter panels are rusted at the bottom around the wheel welds, and the trunk has a rot holes because of spare parts in the boxes were left inside. The interior has never been touched. but it needs to be completely redone. the floors seem to be very solid.the black Vinyl roof preseved the roof from rust damage. Door jabs and inside of trunk lids still has that sandelwood gold paint . The car completely rolls and moves. it has new drum brakes all around and the car. parking brakes work great too.You can buy the car with the engine or not. email me at corvette200120022000@yahoo.com. i can send pictures, talk over phone or make a offer depending on what u want too. it a high opt rs camero and it all there. it a great project car. Third, I'll guarantee you the Vinyl roof rusted the roof up, they all do, they don't preserve a damn thing. chris200120022000 06-07-2007, 02:16 PM alright you got me on spelling camaro wrong. Every one does a typeing mistake. Second , you are wrong about the Vinyl roof. First off i forgot to mention the car had a cover on for the first 10 years of sitting outside. Two the vinyl roof prevents the rain and weather directly getting to the metal. It will cause more damage and lead to rust the roof when it starts really wearing out. and holding the weather and rain inside with no other way to drain. but the vinyl does not have a major tears , mostly stress crack from the sun. and i rip up the side and took a look i do not see any rot holes .The RS (Rally Sport) package was basically a cosmetic upgrade. The headlights were hidden, the taillights received minor alterations, and the exterior rocker trim was revised. RS badging could be seen throughout the vehicle. This was the most popular option ordered in 1967. YOU are wrong about the camaro not coming with a 283. 283ci/195HP V8 (MJ) . MJ is the engine code for having a powerglide and a/c without K19 smog. MD now mean the camaro with the 283ci/195HP but with a manuel transmission and a/c. check this link out and look all the way at the bottom of the page. I know the Guy who had the car sinice 1973. http://www.camaros.org/diffs67.shtml Blue89Bird 06-07-2007, 09:19 PM The only Camaros that came from the factory with a 283 were built in Europe at the Antwerp plant and were very rare, your car does not have one. Post the numbers from the motor as well as the trim tag and VIN so I can prove it. RicocheT 06-07-2007, 09:34 PM Im afraid he is right. Your link there does not even prove you have one. It even says EXPORT V8 right there. Also I do not see how you can vouch for the roof not being rusted, I've seen some with prestine tops on them that had the roof rot under the top. The tops actually hold water causing the metal to rot. Same thing happens in the tulip panels and rocker panels (make sure you clean the leaves from these areas as well as the bottom of doors and such). They were all very common places for a camaro to rot away. I'm not saying your car is rotting there, you maybe right that it is in perfect shape, but it is pretty common among all camaros. Im also not saying you do NOT have a 283, BUT it would be a rare thing like someone posted above. But anyhow for the sake of an arguement the best thing to do is post your cowl tag up and we can take a look at it. | ||
