MT ET Streets, got a few ???RichardZ SS 09-13-2006, 08:35 PM How much air should I run at the track? What kind of burnout should I do? magnumv8 09-13-2006, 09:12 PM Id start off at 15psi and go from there. If you cant hook up, go down 1 psi at a time until you get where you want. I have found that I run 12.5 - 14psi depending on track prep. As far as the burn out, just spin them until they are smoking. I usually go about 2-3 seconds after they start smoking then release the line lock and let it roll out of the water box. RichardZ SS 09-13-2006, 09:46 PM Thanks! I cant wait to see how much different these will be! HOPEFULLY they should put a stop to that nasty wheel spin on the 1-2 shift. ;) snakeatinZ 09-14-2006, 08:26 PM Good post. I was wondering about psi myself. rskrause 09-24-2006, 08:44 AM 13psi works best for me. I do a pretty good burnout for the first pass of the day. After that, unless it's been a long time between passes, just haze them. Rich RichardZ SS 09-24-2006, 01:33 PM I failed to mention in my original post that these are the drag radials. Anyway, I started at 22 psi and worked my way down. I only got to make 3 passes before I broke a tranny mount, but I couldnt NOTICE and wheelspin, yet my best '60 was a 2.1! :( Any ideas whats up with that?? After breaking the tranny mount on the '96, I swiched the drag radials over to the SS for a few runs. My first run, (6spd) I left the line without taching up and bogged REALLY bad, add that to missing the 2-3 shift and that run was botched. The next run, I launched again off idle and bogged, but didnt misshift or anything and still couldnt cut better than a 2.1 '60. 3rd run, I launched at 2800 rpms and the damn clutch stuck to the floor. So all in all, I didnt get to see anything really decisive. | ||
