To Spray or not to spray

Recently, my cousin picked up a Prelude (I think) that has some type of high horsepower (haha that just sounds funny) motor that puts out 220 HP stock. Its a rough car but supposedly it runs. He has beaten every ricer here in town and I guess he is ordering a ZEX kit for it.

I almost have my car done and I told him after I break in the clutch that I would race him.

Should I spray him on the 125 shot or just go all motor??

HAHA that's what I thought you guys would say. If anything I won't spray him off the line because I know I won't hook for crap on my street tires. Hopefully by the time spring rolls around I will have some Prostars with Mickey Thompsons on them.

But, I think hurting his feelings and beating him by bus lengths instead of car lengths would be funny.

Well, I wanted to spray a 150 shot but I lost the jet I need for a 150 shot so for now 125 will do. If I get balsy I might do the 200, cuz I do have the jets for that LOL.

I wouldn't be comfortable spraying that much without a direct port setup. Even then, I'd be prepared to rebuild the engine sooner or later. Plus that's a whole lotta stress on your tranny and rear end.

I know there are ppl out there spray 200 shots on stock LT1 motors, but everything has to be perfect for your motor to last at that level. Im comfortable with 125 all day long on my car, and save the 150 for "special occasions". 150 is what I feel is the acceptable limit on a stock motor. Like yellavette said, you should be concerned about your drivetrain... a 150 shot on a bolt on car makes 550+ rwtq.

You guys got big balls:) I even worry about my little 100 shot, I'd be a nervous wreck spraying 150 or 200! It'd be fun though.

100 shot on a LS1 is potent to begin with - i cant imagine how much more fun it would be with a 150 or 200.... my friend with a lid, mids, catback, 3.73' and 100 shot of tnt is running 122 mph traps with a M6 z28.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a 100 shot with TNT more like 125 or more on the other kits? I should be trapping 123-124, but can't get it hooked up til mid 3rd.

That's an awesome trap speed! Isn't a 100 shot with TNT more like 125 on the other kits? If I could hook up, I'd be right up there too.

I sprayed 150 on my car all day long when I had the NX kit on there about a year ago. Money troubles caused me to sell it or else I would still be running that kit.

150 shot + Mickey Thompsons = One Hell of a ride!!
