The 100K mile warranty is retroactive

Got a letter in the mail today that says the Tahoe I bought 6 months ago gets the 5year/100,000 mile warranty too:cool: It looks like it applies to all MY'07 and beyond vehicles, no matter when you bought it. Sorry if this was obvious, but I had no clue. Nice to get good mail every once in a while.

Mid year 07? Is that what you would call an early 07? I always thought midyear meant like if the early 2007s were a certain way (say, 4-speed autos) and then midway through the model year they went to 6-speeds.

Oh well, symantecs... the retroactive policy is kinda cool but still strange that the "2007" SUVs were being made at the same time as other 2006 GM cars and trucks and yet one is covered and the other isn't?

It does, threxx wasn't referring to MY as meaning mid year.

Took me a minute to figure out what Threxx meant as well. Him saying "mid year" after having MY posted in the thread before made it sound like he thought MY=mid year.

Anyways... the '07 Tahoe was out in March? Wow, they sure keep pushing that date further and further back... wonder how long it'll be before we can buy a car's "MY" more than a year before the actual year. (ie a MY2007 bought in late 2005).

I think Threxx meant it as mid-year...

it can be used either way, but I think it is more commonly used at Midyear. I read it as midyear immediately.

Actually, the '07 Tahoe officially went on sale on January 10th which is exactly 9 days after the first day it could be released as an '07 model. By law they can not release a car more than 1 full model year before its calendar year designation.

I think he actually meant Mid Year 07 which is not semantecs. Meaning the warrenty was announced mid year thus he assumed it would only apply to those who bought their vehicles from the Mid year on out, not the early 07's that were bought before the warrenty change.

I dont think its strange that it covers the 07's and not the 06's The 07's are supposed to be the refined improved better vehicles than the 06's and they are backing them that way.
