Car got slower with better DA ??

So, I just moved to Alaska and head to the track for the first time here. In Texas I was running 7.10 @ 99 mph in the 1/8th. That's with 1800 DA. Yesterday I ran consistent 11.20's in the 1/4 trapping 120--1/8 mile time was 7.20@95. I think the DA yesterday was around -200. What gives with the MPH loss and the loss of a tenth in the 1/8th? The only bonus was I got a new best 60ft time of 1.53:D

BTW after the last run, on the return road my car caught on fire and I'm done for the season. Looks like fuel line decided to take a dump on the header and POOF.

Obviously, the laws of physics have been repealed in Alaska ;) Or , at least something else went wrong. Maybe it has something to do wtih catching on fire??

wouldnt the car be running too lean then? if the air is better and the car is slower than it was with less air, i would guess that you need to richen it up a bit.

I stand corrected. Running too lean.

If nothing changes except for the altitude, going from a good air/fuel mixture in a thin air, high altitude to a fat air, low altitude, means you now have a lot more air to burn but the fuel is still the same. It needs more fuel for the lower altitude to mix with the extra air.

I'm just too used to always racing at high altitude.
